Posted a similar thread about our fans on SS. Didnt realise you guys were booing the team though. Only heard them towards Silverwood icon_lol.gif

Anyway, Leeds and Sts were 2 and 1 leading into the game yet they are getting booed when losing. What gets me though is that its probably the people who had a go at the Wire fans for the same thing. God help us when we go through a rough patch (which will happen) and our clubs are at the opposite end of the ladder.

Yes we didn't win, yes its disappointing but I don't agree with booing the players no matter what, it achieves nothing.

And as for the die newton die - some players need to learn to move on and stop holding grudges.

I think it was directed at the ref, we (majority of fans) clapped the team off

Well, it probably makes the booers feel better and it also lets the team know that some people were not too happy with the performance, which probably could be said for just about every fan last night. I was bemused myself, especially when they started playing backwards. It was so bizarre I found myself laughing a lot at the sight of Saints running closer and closer to Bradford's tryline when in fact they were supposed to be running towards their own. I did try to remind them that they were supposed to be going the other way, but they didn't seem to hear me.

All in all it was a strange night but no doubt Bradford out-enthused and out-played us and deserved their win.

There were definately boos for the team. These people must be empty heads.YES it was a shocking performance but we are top of the league FFS. These are SL era spoilt ba5tards. I bet supporters of other clubs would love to be ' only' 4 points clear at the top ! We cannot expect to run over teams week in week out. Bradford were bound to put in a good performance after being embarassed last week at Odsal. Fair play to the Bulls they dominated the ruck and bossed our pack.

As for the Die Newton chants firstly I wouldn't give him the attention and given recent events in the game it seems in even poorer taste than it ever was before.

Its a real pity more of their fans didn't make the trip to witness it. It was one of the poorest away turnouts ever.

St. Helens are so used to their team being piggy backed aided by the ref that when they don't get a penalty they start having little tantrums on the terraces, i can't recall one set of 6 from saints without boo's and screams from their own supporters - trust me, it dosn't make a good atmosphere

So the 2 games we have lost this season have been by a total of 5 points?

Small margins indeed, people need to get a grip, I was dissapointed we lost, but to boo the team off the pitch, come on.

Quote: Ski "And the lads singing Die Die Newton, please don't return. I'd rather have 500 off the audience than be associated with, and labelled as, your kind.

Booing an abject display from a side who have set the standard for nigh on 5 years now? Get a grip, we are going to lose some.

Singing about Newton is one thing, it was 5 years ago. Most of you, if you took the blinkers off, would take him at S next season any day. On top of that, wishing death upon someone?'"

It's a difficult subject this as I can see both sides of it. I grew up following Saints in the 80's and was subjected to displays that would have made last nights effort look like Brazil had just took up playing RL. I feel priviliged to be following such a successful team and as much as I have tried not to take it for granted, you can't help but expect to be turning over the Bulls and be disappointed when you don't. ATEOTD though, 15/16 year old lads who don't know the history behind the club are going to be more disappointed than me because they DEMAND success. It's not the right way to be and if we took a Wiganesque fall from grace they may suddenly be cherisihing the position we are in now.

In saying all that though, I try to put things in perspective. If you ate at a reastuarant every week and it was magnificent 9 times on the bounce but the 10th time you went, your food was awful, would you not feel you had the right to say something because of what you had previously? I would. I'd go back and expect things to return to normal but sometimes even the best need a reality check. I know it's not a perfect analolgy because restaurants don't play 3 games in 8 days, do they? 4.8427734375:10
