Smith had the advantage of Long being out injured for a period, something the others you've mentioned haven't had.

Tough call to drop Longy, he normally plays well against Wigan. But, I'd definitely give Eastmond a game next week, whether that be starting or on the bench. He'd give us a spark that we lacked tonight.

i cant believe what i am reading. There were many worse performances than longs tonight. Surely having eastmond learning from the best scrum half that sl has ever seen is the best way of doing things. Some peoples over reaction to a defeat is laughable.

Not really, not many sports teams have their star players sat on the bench or in the stand whilst their understudies play for extended periods, unless they are injured.

He offers far more than Gilmour in the centres, as Gilmour is primarily an attacking back row.

The fact the Hargreaves, Dean and Ashurst naever came back on the field after being rotated, makes me wonder if those players were carrying knocks.
