I can't understand why legends have to have been from the past and not the present!

| They could have at least made it a realistic pose. Like sat in an armchair watching GB on the telly...

Most likely given that they made the mistake of doing an online vote which anyone could vote on as many times as they liked. I imagine a fair few of other teams fans voted, for the giggles!

| He deserves the accolade. A true great of Saints. The statue isn't for a GB player or it would be outside Wembley or RL headquarters or some such. I can't think of a more deserving person.
Some people are very mean spirited.

Don't mention that, they'll harp on about how many they won, in the good old days.
But, since the only thing they've won for 7 years is a SL licence, they need some crumbs of comfort

Farrell was someone who had given his all to Rugby League and to Wigan. He was then over thirty years of age, in fact he was 31 before he played his first game of Rugby Union, an age by the way that Paul Sculthorpe retired.
He was offered a long term contract (which Wigan sensibly wouldn't have offered him) by Rugby Union.
He went on to play for England, and secured his families future.
Anyone who says that they wouldn't have done the same is either a liar or stupid.

[iThey say that the captain stays fast with the ship,
Through still and storm,
But this ain't the Dakota,
And the water's so cold,
Won't have to fight for long. [/i
Pretty much sums it up for me.
