| Foster ain't demanding the earth but wants to be on the same level as Gaskell and lomax. IMO the is nothing wrong with that.
I was told today just how much he wants and how much Lee Gaskell new deal is worth.

But he tweeted last week about rumours and how he can't believe them. My guess is this is just a nonsense rumour.
We'll find out soon enough no doubt. I don't even know whether he is up for contract renewal this season? I can't remember. But since two young players have just been announced then I would imagine if he is up for renewal, it won't be too long before we know about the outcome.
He's just tweeted that today he and some others have been posing for the new shirt promo over in Bradford (where ISC rented a studio apparently - it seems we have nothing of use in St Helens!). His comments were very positive although he said he wasn't allowed to tweet a pic.'"
New shirt as in next seasons? Lovely...

I can see him currently on a par with Gaskell but a level or two below lomax who definitely has something more to offer than any of the other young players. If foster believes he is as valuable as lomax then he may have a problem. Particularly as lomax is a reasonable goal kicker too. Would be sad to see foster leave, but it's hardly the end of the world

Especially given we lost Eastmond, Lomax should easily be the priority out of those three. However, even though I think Gaskell will end up a better player, Foster is doing more for the squad right now.

| Foster is an interesting dilemma for the club, if anyone is seriously sniffing around with good money, then whose to say what will happen. He is our best kicker, but Lomax can also kick pretty decent and with practice will get better. So is that as big a plus for foster as we think it is.
Foster is under contract till 2012, so there is adequate time for the board to get someone else, and there are wingers like Makinson, Brotherton in our own squad that could be brought in.
I'm not suggesting Foster should go or that he has not earned his place, but is his barganing hand as strong as say Lomax or Gaskell, we have offloaded alot of our younger halfbacks, ellis, eastmond and smith. With Pryce unknown, Gaskell and Lomax struck whilst the iron was hot.
Wingers tend to be add on's that are nice if you have a good one but you can survive with average. We have won SL with players who never really would be classed in the same quality as darren albert.
Arnold, Dwayne West, Hayes, smith etc.
With a salary cap you have to put your money in key positions and Wing well, it's not as key as 6/7/9/ and then 1/8/10/ 13 would be next for me, with 3&4 then 11/12, 2 and 3 just don't command the wages they used to pre salary cap , where a fast winger was a glamours role and could demand big bucks. Now it's a bonus.

Charnley can kick goals too you know!
Do you think he should of included Kevin Penny or Chris Riley in his list?

| No, don't confuse me supporting Wire for bigging up players in a silly one eyed way.
Penny had one good aspect in he was lighting quick, too much of a liability though, Riley is like Charnley, a squad player.
Foster would do well at Wigan or Warrington (not saying he's signing saints don't jump down my throat) both those teams being more expansive than Saints.
Plus Fosters big asset which i'm sure Saints fans will concur is his balance, running down the line you wonder how he doesn't end up in touch, twinkle toes Foster.

Come off it please, Riley is like Goulding or D.Hodgson, can finish, doesn't drop balls under pressure, fairly quick
Charnley is already in our starting 13 week in week out, i expect the same for the next decade at least.

29281_1270406980.jpg When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club.
We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens.
Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before.

| Riley scored an absolute peach of a try v Bradford, still doesn't make him a world beater, that was sloppy defending rather than class wing play.
