| Pre Manu announcement: One of our best players this season and throughout his time here. Will be gutted if he leaves.
Post Manu announcement: Been quiet all season, not done anything.
A small insight into the wonderful world of a Hull fan.

| East Hull FC Fan is over-exaggerating.
Manu had a very good start to the season, playing as we all know he can (using his unnaturally strong upper body to wade through tacklers and make offloads, creating holes in the opposition defence).
He had a poor end-of-june/start-of-july, compared to his usual standards. He wasn't looking for the offloads, he was sometimes running the ball in instead of making the pass to the centres, and wasted a couple of chances.
He's come back into it and been his usual self in the past two games.
He's a great player, one of Hull's best, and he's a quality signing for you. You'll have a great back row next year with Manu, Soliola, Wilkin, and possibly Puletua (or will he be at Prop?).
I think that the Hull fan saying that he had a quiet season has noticed the poor games he was having a few weeks ago and been a bit blinded by that, saying that he's been like that all along.

| Apart from a couple of games, Manu has been excellent this year. Certainly in our top three players with Houghton and lynch.

Bit of a broad sweeping comment that. Have a pop at the individual poster(s) by all means but we're not all as you suggest.
Hull FC and their fans will miss Manu dreadfully. He is the one forward we have who will always beat the first tackler, and often beat the next two or three as well. He is immensely strong and throws opposition players around with consummate ease. His offloading ability is fantastic and when he put Yeaman in for a try against the evil lot from across the river earlier on this season with three or four defenders on him it was astonishing.
Very few players have that ability to get the crowd on their feet just by catching a pass with the expectation of what's about to happen, Willie Manu is certainly one of them.

'A hull fan', not 'the hull fans'.

Without naming the offender, it still reads as a generalisation though, still, we may have to disagree.

Sorry if it reads as a generalisation, I can assure you it isn't.

| He was by no means alone, but Jamie had a bit of rough time at the DW tonight. He looks totally bereft of confidence when going into contact, either as a defender or an attacker.

I agree, although he was unlucky not to score. I thought Manu was Hull's best player last night.

| His hull form seemed to slip against the Pies, he looked tense at times and his defence IMO, showed why Saints have lost favour with him.

Don't think you'll find many Hull fans who don't think manu has been our best, most consistent player for the last 5 years. Gutted he is leaving and leaves a massive hole in our team
foster is shat though and a poor winger in comparison to the rookie we have on the other wing

| I would really like Foster to succeed, preferably at Saints, but modern wingers need to be either fast or big or preferably both.
Maybe he could bulk up in the gym during winter,

I didn't watch the match - I'm too engrossed in the Olympics to think about RL at the moment - but I did hear that Hull lost Yeaman to injury at some point. Wasn't Yeaman Foster's centre? That might have had a bearing on his performance. No idea, like, as I didn't watch but it's just a suggestion.
Back to the Olympics for me. I may even be tempted to stay away on Monday night, depending on the Olympics schedule.

Really?
I too have watched pretty much all the olympics I can, but it doesn't come close to my love for Saints.
