He's also clearly one of the more experienced players and if anything it's probably a parting dig at Lee, a 'told you so' goodbye. Jon Wilkin often addresses issues that have raised concern among fans. It appears to be one of his off field roles, probably because he is media savvy with good contacts in the business. I saw this article and it reads to me that Gaskell isn't coping too well. It will read to others that he has an attitude problem. How it is interpreted will no doubt be coloured by the reader's degree of sympathy towards Gaskell. That it can be interpreted in a number of ways says a lot about Wilkin's communication skill.

From what I have been told Saints offered higher and due to Gaskells circumstances he asked for lower and 12 was what he was earning by third year.

I'd fined it hard to believe £12,000.

It's just too low. You could do almost any other job and get more than £12k.

You might expect to be on that amount if you were 15-18 and just in the academy, but not playing FT in the SL.
