I very much doubt that is true considering we have three great centres already and a very hot prospect in Rhys Evans coming through the ranks.

Let me take you back to the Four Nations final, last November. England outplaying the Aussies up until the hour mark. Shenton comes off injured after a severe clash of heads, and Australia score 4 or 5 tries all down the side Shenton would have been. A narrow England lead becomes a comfortable Australian victory.

So if you are such a strong believer in the stats and how it categorically proves Bridge is better than Shenton, do you also believe Graham's show how much better a prop he's always been than Morley?

I think the comments prove what a quality 'young british' centre were getting. In a quality side and as he develops physically he'll undoubtedly improve.

With the pack he'll be playing behind next year let's see the stats in 12 months time!

The signing of Shenton reminds me of when we signed Gleeson from Hudds.
A half decent player with a lot of potential,personally I reckon he will be an excellent signing for Saints.

Having watched Shenton most of his career this season hasn't been his best. But there is no doubt in my mind that Saints have got themselves a good one there. Shentons problems this year have probably been down to a couple of injuries and the lack of a scrum half getting the ball his way. He's been moved from his favoured left centre position this year and not have a regular wing partnership would have hindered him.

I think Shenton is a better player than Gleeson was when he signed for Saints. He is a honest grafter that gets on with his job without all the hype, tattoos and silly hair styles that curtain other centres have to bring attention to themselves.

I will continue to cheer him on when he's on TV and look forward to seeing him improve over the years to come.
