Agree with Rogues here name the player or admit your just making stuff up to suit your desperate attempts to claim Myler joined Dire for the love of it and not the cold hard cash ...

Again, could it be beyond the realms of possibiltity that Myler (along with Atkins) joined Warrington for the chance to play under, who was then, the current England coach who after seeing what he accomplished at Leeds and how he developed some of their players into regular internationals?
Also could challenging for honours been an important part of their decision or are these two points ridiculous and they both signed for the cold hard cash????

Because at the time you didn't even get into the playoffs. Yes, you won the cup but you weren't one of the big teams in the league,

I've told Rogues who the player was. I trust he will not breach the privacy of my pm but I'm sure he can confirm that I have informed him of the player. Whether he believes me or not is up to him. At least he responded with a reasoned response in a rationale polite manner.
Now you show me where I have claimed Myler joined Warrington for "the love of it". I gave a reasoned response on how I think Warrington balance the salary cap perhaps you would take time to read it and see if you can give a reasoned response why you consider ii a "desperate attempt" at anything. I personally think you will struggle to actually read it as it contains words of more than two syllables.

| Just came across this thread so i thought I go and look at the salary cap rules and all the other available data. In answer to the question as to "how can Wolves be under the cap", the answer....
You get a spreadsheet, you list the names, you list the amounts, you add them up, you check the total is under the limit and then .... JOB DONE!!!
All the arguments about how much this player is on or this player etc is pure speculation and therefore useless in reality

| Having just spoken to Lord Hoyle, its a FACT that no breach of salary cap has taken place at Warrington in 2006.
FACT !

It wasn't and I will not post the players name as it was in a pm.
I will also say that I did explain to him why his source was wrong and we had a polite conversation with regard to that player and young players salaries in general.

| I'm guessing the PM sent was bull tbh, if you can only tell one person then you obviously feel that no one else will beleive you.
That's just my opinion on it.

| Quote: Paul Youane "Interesting that nothing has been said about image right payments lately. Last I saw reported in print was that Hull KR and Warrington had addressed the issue and had been cleared.
Wigan did confirm in their last set of company accounts that they were under-investigation in relation to this issue. Have they issued any up-dates since?'"
At the last shareholders meeting it was stated that Wigan along with nine? (I can't remember whether it was ten or twelve in total) other clubs were being investigated by HMRC but had made no provision in their accounts as they did not believe there was a problem. Nothing more has been said on the issue and I wouldn't expect there to be unless a payment was due. We will probably get an update at the next shareholders meeting, as someone is bound to ask the question.

correct....!!! this has been a great thread, one of the best lunch times Ive had reading this.
All the " he must be on a fair wedge", " He wont Come Cheap he played in the NRL", and the Saints players " on Peanuts" or " come through the Academy so he'll accept a smaller salary"
...its been sheer investigative genious of the highest order.
I have no idea what my colleague sat next to me is on and he does exactly the same job as me.....i'll agree its peanuts but what that amounts to in pounds sterling I have no idea.......
However you'd have to feel for Matt king with his 20 billion pound fortune but having all his winners medals taken of him....

That is the problem with opinions; any idiot can have one.
