| Quote: Rob Wire "Another thing about Wigan this year, they have probably been the most fortunate out of the top 4 with injuries.
I know they have Fielden out and they had Richards out at the start of the season but how many key playmakers have they lost this year ? Their test will come if they lose either Tomkins or Leuluai for any length of time, the times ive watched them it seems to be those 2 above that have a big say in their results.
Saints have been crippled with injuries as everyone knows, both Warrington and Leeds have had a lot of injuries as well this year and to key players as well.'"
Which "key" players have Wire missed?

Joel Monaghan

Myler and King were both out for lengthy periods, Joel Monaghan has also now been missing for around a month, we have also had Louis Anderson out with a lengthy injury as well, Ben Harrison only returned from injury tonight after being out for a while. We have had several other players that have missed around 2-3 weeks with injuries.

Sorry Rogues but your scraping the barrel there, most of that lot are comical for one reason or another, good effort though. Finch is and has always been an overrated player, Wigan fans were crying out for Roberts to be dropped after his poor form, who exactly is O'Carroll going to replace in the Wigan starting line up ? Hansen is nothing more than a plodder and you can hardly calll him a key player thats been missing through injury.
Lets see how they would get on if they lost either Tomkins or Leuluai for over a month, lets hope it doesn't happen as you wouldn't wish injury on any player plus you want to see the best players on the pitch.

You've both been remarkably lucky on the injury front. Both teams would struggle with 12 out like we've had at times or with ALL their halfbacks and backup halfbacks out at the same time. Warrington wouldn't have won that tonight without Briers and Myler.

Thats rubbish and you know it, we'd of had a half back pairing of Jon Clarke and Chris Bridge teasing and taunting you. You'd have been chasing exhaust fumes into the distance.

| For the good of the game, I hope Warrington get the better of Wigan. Watching Wigan grappling their way to success is turgid, at least Warrington are entertaining. I think Warrington are better suited to winning at wembley on a hot dry track and Wigan at OT in the damp, much like saints and Leeds before.

| I agree, Wigan seem to be far less expansive than they were last season, perhaps they have been found out so their defence is having to win them more games this season. Have they been found out? I hope they can find the attack of last season, because when I did see it it was a pleasure to watch.
Warrington seem to be doing exactly what Wigan were last season, coupling the attack and defence, but other teams are a lot closer. Tonight did show that Warrington can be beaten although they weren't.

| After seeing both teams back to back, I would definitely fancy Wigan when the 2 teams meet.
Wigan completely snuffed our attack out around the ruck which is the area where we made most of our ground and meaningful attacks from last night.
If Hock & Fielden come back into any kind of form Wigan will have a very strong pack going into the back end of the season.

Finch is a SOO player, Roberts as you should know destroyed Wire at the HJ last year (he's just gone back into hospital for another knee op) O'Carroll was ahead of Prescott in the appearances last season until his injury.
As for Hansen look at these, pay particular attention to the tackles, missed tackles, errors and penalties.

They are as key as Joel Monaghan,Matt King, Louis Anderson, Ben Harrison and Richie Myler.
Pat Richards should also have been added to Wigan list.

Unfortunately I have to agree with this.
For me Wires key players are Briers and M Monaghan.
If you take say Eastmond and Pryce out for Saints and the above two for Wire I would more than fancy our chances.
Back to the original question, someone else said the goons in the wet and Wire in the dry Is also something Id go for.
Id add that Wire would have more of a chance of winning them both than the other way round.
