I just think the way some of your fans have slated Nathan brown is disgusting, he did amazing job at hudds with what I think is a avenge team. It was clear from most outsiders that you have been punching above your weight.
In other words, I think some of your fans has lost touch reality due to the fact you was top for few weeks and used the fact brown was leaving as the scapegoat.'"
I accept what you're saying & agree to some extent. There is a portion of the Hudds support that have gone way overboard with the NB departure & all the ramifications thereof. You'll get no argument from me there.
However, this type of blinkered attitude isn't just the province of Hudds fans. Royce Simmons was savaged on here in a disgraceful manner & made the scapegoat by a certain section of Saints fans & this was a coach who had got you to a Grand Final only, what was it, 6 matches previously? And a GF that you were actually looking like winning until Shenton got busted & couple of quick dodgy decisions went against you.
Yeah, a fickle lot RL fans.

The doubters have been proved right about Royce though, it was our worst ever start to a SL season and our worst run for 23 years - you only have to look at the league table now to see it was the right move.
Time will tell whether Brown was the problem at Hudds - you certainly didn't get the reaction from the players at the weekend that Saints got when Royce left.

I would accept being called fickle if I'd have bigged royce up in his first year but that fact I didn't want him from day one until the day he was sacked isn't fickle.
Royce is a top guy who always put in 100% but he's not a first team coach and never will be.
Brown has done a terrific job for a number of years at hudds and turned them into a good team and also good to watch, he turned some very average players into good super league players.
I honestly can't wait to see saints play under a top coach like brown.

83% of teams who discard their coach mid season win their next game.
Presumably the remainder do not, and both Hudds and London are obviously among that number.

But how many then go on to win 13 of their next 17 with one draw and only 3 losses after a previous record of 2 wins 1 draw and 3 losses?

Have you seen Brown's coaching record for both St George and Huddersfield? It is mediocre at best. Won nothing with either club and lost the dressing rooms at both clubs.
He is not a world class coach and neither has he done a fantastic job so don't fool yourself.
Regardless of what you think of Huddersfield, Brown has spent full salary cap money bring his players in, numerous internationals that he chose and he still couldn't in a thing.
I will be surprised if he lasts a season at saints thru him wanting to leave or you getting shut!!

So are London, I don't understand this argument. A club needs more than an equal salary cap spend in order to become a top team.
I like Huddersfield, but the fact remains that their current squad was punching above its weight when finishing so high, and Brown has to take credit for that. We'll have to wait and see how he does at Saints, at the moment I'm completely undecided.

I believe he took both sides high up the table from pretty low starting points. I'll agree he does seam to have a tapper to his record, but if he can push us on a bit further that will do me fine, when he starts to tapper get shut. I have no loyalty to coaches or players per se. If he does not tapper for Saints then if he pulls in 2 trophies I can see us keeping him. But history does not always repeat itself. DA at Saints then back home in oz. Tony Smith at Huddersfield and Leeds and Warrington. Sean Mcrea at Saints/Gateshead then Salford.
Some coaches fit with a team, other coaches don't. The very strange this is the Huddersfield players turning on the coach who brought most of them through. Although there is the chance that it was not all the players and so there could have been a split which would indicate why there was no post coach reaction last week, if that divide remains.
At Saints we did not just sack Royce, the assistant went too and it was a former player and youth team coach that bring that aurthority with both junior and senior players.

| the split in the camp at the giants was brown , just not nathan, i think he will do a great job for the saints and will be having a wager on u winning silverware next year, i think he took a average set of players at the giants to the maximum of their ability.

| brown has done a very good job at giants, but the set up was allready there when he came in so its hard to argue that someone else couldnt come in and do the same. brett hodgson and griffin have been big losses but thats down to thewlis who i cannot not believe that idiot is still in the job.
tony smith started it john sharp carried it on untill he had a blow up season which led to nathan brown coming, all this about us having an average squad yet this squad has turned every big side over untill browns media attention and his unwillingness to commit which has caused tention in the squad also injurys have played parts, we have 2 top class forwards sat on our physio table most of the year
we have the best half back in the league, without brough we would be bottom, exciting young players in the backs, hardly a midtable squad. i dont get where you think you have some super squad when you fall apart when roby isnt there. you did have a very good squad but the players ages caught up in the end and you have had to blood young players in which in fairness are brilliant younsters but ur nowhere near a mile away from us on player ability altho mentally you are,
atm there are 3 stand out teams in my eyes warrington, wigan and leeds wigan and wire are brilliant in the league starting to be top 2 more often and will always do well in the cup while leeds are showing dont have to be full steam ahead in the league when you have the quality in the big games.
we are part of the chasing pack along with catalan and hull altho this decision to annouce when he did has cost us we was again beating teams at will so we wont just dissapear because of this just need to end season let the players leave bring who ever in fresh start for next season
