Not the same. A winger doesn't really need to pass the ball, as he's last in the line. He'll probably make 1/10th of the passes a halfback will receive and receive a similar number.

True enough but it would still be uncomfortable dealing with the amount of kicks they have to and taking runs from dummy half each set.

Lomax may need a bit longer but I can't see it being a massive amount of time before he's back.

I think its just a case of every injury being a little bit different. Lomax is a tough lad, and is the sort to play through the pain barrier if he can.

If you remember, I posted prior to the Wigan game that Lomax would be targeted. I knew, and Wigan knew that he was carrying an injury.

So you are insinuating that Wigan deliberately dislocated his thumb?

No what I'm saying is that Wigan knew he was carrying an injury and would have targeted him as they know even if he is fully fit he is not a very good defender.

You're missing the point.

Wigan KNEW he was carrying an injury and were aiming to test him out.

They also knew he was a small half back, like every other team in the league might have noticed.

They'd target Lomax whether he had an injury or not.
