| I like the souunds of "cashed-up". Let's hope we bring in the quality we have been linked with, with all our cash.

| Quote The Chief="The Chief"Queensland RL boss Ross Livermore accepts Meninga is in the frame for Saints job and addresses the speculation, no smoke without fire I suppose. Didnt know we were "cashed up" though! lol

[iMal Meninga is set to be hunted by cashed-up British Super League club St Helens as the replacement for Mick Potter in 2011.
QRL managing director Ross Livermore said that Meninga was under contract to Queensland next year and he did not think the league legend was interested in club coaching.
"But given his great service as a player and coach, we would not stand in his way, and it's not as if he is going to another code," Livermore said.[/i'"
I might be reading a bit much into this, but that quote gives me the impression that hes on his way. 'Its not as if he's going to another code', surely that should be 'its not as if he WOULD be going to another code'?
I get the impression Livermore is saying he is leaving Queensland and coming to Saints, as i say, i'm probably just reading too much into it, but hopefully not.

Any Australian would make the logical assumption that if St Helens come a calling, you go to respresent. Playing or representing the V is an honour on par with a knighthood or an oscar, you just don't turn it down.

| As I said, Meninga is the front runner amongst some of the players so there could be something in it.

Technically, we're very cashed up aren't we? Even more so since the new guys have come on to the board.

| With every week that passes, losing Potter seems a worse move.
He's done a tremendous job this season. We've scored the most points in SL despite having our worst time with injuries for years with stacks of academy lads getting several games.
Thinking about it - we could name an all St Helens academy XVII from players who have played in 2010:
Wellens
Foster
Wheeler
Dean
Lomax
Moore
Eastmond
Graham
Cunningham
Emmitt
Clough
Dixon
Roby
Magennis
Armstrong
Ashurst
Johnson
Given another year or two, and a few signings rather than just bringing through youngsters like he's had to do so far, I reckon Potter could create something pretty special at Saints.

I'd be surprised at that. Particularly as Simmons is a bit of a loud mouth which doesnt go down well with Eamon.

A truly bizarre appointment if true. His coaching record is simply awful.
