Back on Gaskell, it makes sense to play him this week with Hohaia at 9. It'll be interesting to see how he does with a more experienced partner in Wilkin alongside him. If he continues to disappoint when given an opportunity then players like Swift who are waiting for an opportunity could step in.

According to the Saints Twitter feed, Swift is going to get the chance to play in the next couple of weeks so it looks like Gaskell won't be getting a chance anytime soon anyway.

How would you know how lomax train and what Gaskell diets like and if he goes out drinking or not you would have to work for the club

One eyed's dig at a Saints player should really bring a caution from the mods IMO because that is bringing a player's reputation into disrepute.

That is simply not true, I have always been a fan of gaskell and it's disappointing how he hasn't grabbed his chance. I'm just able to objectively acknowledge that he's done next to nothing when in the first team since 2011.

Hohaia was brought over here to play at 6. It is very easy to make a young bloke a scapegoat or even just drop him rather than face the challenge of dropping from the position the Kiwi your boss paid a fortune to bring over for four years, even though he really isn't a good 6.

At Saints the senior players are never dropped. Never. Not since Simmons dropped Perry anyway. And we know how that worked out. There is nothing internet message board gossip about that: it's as plain as the nose on your face.
