I watched it back this morning (glutten for punishment) and the stats are right.

I don't agree, I counted and another poster counted the same. Did you see him laughing and smiling when he was trying to pack down in the scrum at 24-0 down.

Watch the game back if you can suffer it and count again, he definitely did 9.
I'm not saying they were effective but there was 9 not very effective carries.

| Quote The Yellow Giraffe="The Yellow Giraffe"One of the most frustrating things about our forwards is that the problems are really basic. Aggression and running on to the ball at speed. You teach kids at about 9 or 10 that they should run on the ball. We have seasoned professionals who are catching the ball stood still and slowly jogging into the tackle; it's an absolute disgrace. Why can't our coaching staff recognise this issue and do something about it?'"
I wish I knew. It's utterly baffling. It frustrates the hell out of me.

| Well I'm supportive when they do well and when Mose did over 150 m I think it was against Huddersfield, I said the BOOM had arrived.
Well the Boom arrived and it seems like it was all noise.
Not seen the game but those stats. Not one forward made over 100m. Mose made almost half that.
Aweful just aweful and only 11 tackles with 3 of them misses?
Roby made more tackles than nearly every forward made meters.
Assisted it seems by Thompson.
Not sure if I'll watch the game, but quite frankly that's poor in anyones book.
Lets look at a very poor team.
London - several forwards tipping close to 100m in their last loss. Tackling more evenly distributed.
Or another team that took a hammering
Widnes- 70's, 60's and 90's not impressive but at least showing some fight despite being on the end of a hammering. The tackling again evenly distributed.
To me that shows even if a team is not very good or having a bad day, they can still put in an effort. Our had a bad day, were not very good and put in little effort.
Also a back on the bench??? Why have we gone down that road again. Ok it was needed, but by then the game was gone anyway.

| I also think this gimmick of Wellens trying to be a forward needs to stop. 13 tackles and 30m for a loose forward is embarrassing.

| Looks like the blame is fairly evenly distributed amongst all the players.
Not one player seems to have had a stand out performance, which makes me conclude it was/is an attitude problem

| Well, Robes will get his rest.
He and Walmsley have both been charged with Grade B offences, so that's a one match ban for both with an EGP. Unless Walmsley was banned earlier in the season? I can't remember whether he got a ban or was injured.

| Had a chance to look through. A couple of points to be made on this one. As a team:
1) 16 errors. 16. In 30odd degree heat, we come up with 16 errors. I'm a little in disbelief at this, it's quite frankly ridiculous. In a game where ball retention is key we hand it over easily so often and wonder what went wrong. It's not even like it was 1 person had a shocker either, it was across the board.
2) hand in hand with 1) a total tackle count of 371 is our second highest of the year (only vs Leeds at LP did we tackle more with 401) - doing more defensive work in the heat is always going to cost you at the end of the game. That said, 371 is only the upper end of average for super league as a whole, and even in the heat it can hardly be called a huge effort. It raises serious questions over whether fitness is an issue (especially when you consider 2 players made around 25% of the tackles for us!)
3) as I said, nobodies stats are particularly great, but none of them are particularly bad either. If I was forced to pull players out, Manu, walmsley and jones would probably where I point the finger. That said, they all have in common the fact they've been out for the last few weeks - was it a mistake bringing so many back for the game considering it was in the heat?
4) talking of which, what the frock was the point of Percival on the bench?
5) looking at roby's stats for a minute. This is the 5th time Roby has made more than 50 tackles this season, we've lost 3 of them. I believe that's more than coincidence - WE HAVE TO FIND AN INTERCHANGE FOR ROBY!
6) I find this team so incredibly frustrating, more so than any saints team I have ever watched I think. I believe that we have the quality to make a real push this year. Yet time and time again attitude/ choking let us down. I still believe we can win it, but week on week who knows what team will turn up - is there a more Jekyll and Hyde team than us at the moment ever in superleague? (Of course this may change in the next 2 weeks) - I'm incredibly frustrated though coming into 2 really big games, we could of had a comfortable cushion to help us through and we squandered it so pitifully. Is it coaching? Is it an attitude problem in camp? I just don't understand.
7) Thompson should be immune to all criticism this week. Incredible effort for a guy so young in the pack - if only more could emulate him.

I agree completely. He's impressed me every time he has played.
