Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"You forgot about the try he made. How are you going to spin that negatively?'"
I don't need to spin it at all - he did indeed lay on a try, which makes his conversion rate of blatant opportunities very poor.
I want to see him making the right decisions under pressure (which he has failed to do in the past). The fact he can't make those decisions in what was effectively a training session worries me.
Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"And Hohaia was fundamental to setting up what was the try of the season for us IMO in the last minute of the game against Leeds at LP but let's forget about that and all the other positives he has brought to our side this season just so that you and a few others can have a stupid dig.'"
I'm not forgetting it, it was a decent chip kick and I gave him credit for it at the time. Problem is that it's not about one or two moments every half a season, it's about making the basic decisions and making them correctly more often than not, which he doesn't do.
Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"Walsh and Hohaia need to be allowed to build their partnership rather than messed about every bloody week by the tinkerman.'"
I agree that Walsh needs a settled partner by Septemeber, but if there is any blessing in being out of the cup it's that we have the opportunity to really try to work out who that someone is - it is far from clear that it should be Lance, but it may well be.
What I am advocating is using this dead space in the season to see if Lance is the answer. Lance could put together a string of good games and claim the shirt (which we would all be happy to see). Or he could continue to make schoolboy decisions that butcher opportunities and find himself under (legitimate) pressure.
