| Quote bewareshadows="bewareshadows"I don't think he said that it was the plan all along.
I can see some of the benefits of Turner at 6.
He's a runner
He can kick
However it's one thing doing it in training, quite another when the opposition want to hurt you.
Having said that Leon did ok at 6 behind Longy, so a good strong running back can make the transition. You could argue Turner has more skills than Pryce did, but he does not have the bulk.
It would also leave us awfully short in the centre position.'"
you can definitely argue that turner offers more attacking threat than Lance

If Lance is left out of the plans, surely he'll want out (wishful thinking)

I'd agree with that.
This unexpected news has made me even more excited about the season starting!

You can, although my worry is that it means that Lance offers no threat and so we have had to look elsewhere.
This I am not too concerned about, but it's all a bit late in the day, when most had seen enough after 2 years.
Still at least if it is true we will have Roby being spelled with Lance which for me is only a good thing.

Nathan Brown said: "In the pre season we have looked at numbers of options at six.
"Our nine, seven and one are set in stone with Robes, Walshy and Jonny. Six is a spot where we have experimented with numbers in the pre-season but it is probable that we will run with Jordy in that position and use Lance as a utility type player."

| Turner won't make a 6 as long as he lives. I was spot on about lance and I'm even more sure that Turner won't work in the halves.
The few times he's gone there he's done a predictable hop skip and step or a run across and drop off. I was pretty confident about this season but we are going to be in the Same boat halfback wise but I've got a feeling Walsh will have a good few halfback partners this year. Turner is not the answer. I'd rather go with Lance, Wilkin or wheeler over Turner.
Why would we move our player of the year out of position?

Just to play devils advocate, what qualities did Leon Pryce have that Turner doesn't?

What do you want for a 6?
If you want someone to ease the burden of responsibility of organisation off Walsh the person playing 6 is Wilkin.
If you want someone whose going to run at the line and run off the shoulder of forwards looking for the offload, Turner is as good a shout as any. Will he be better than lance? His handling and distribution has a question mark over it but so does lances no? Personally, turner is more likely to make something out of nothing than lance is - aka is less predictable...
I think the comparisons to Leon are pretty fair, let's be honest Leon's distribution was problematic at times too!
It may just be a way to get turner jones and Percival into the same team? Maybe another centre is coming in on lances money? It seems a sudden change so something's a foot...

I'm wiling to give Turner the benefit of the donut but I'm not fully confident of him at 6
