There was always a question regarding meli's defence but his finishing has been outstanding and still is.

I think St Pete put it well above. He's our most dangerous outside back and is still a good player. But the club needs to kick on and progress and as he'll be 35 by next season, it's the right time to do it.

Giving Wellens a new deal is not acceptable in any scenario, hopefully the club see that.

That's exactly my point. The club has gone stale and a change is needed of a change. I think 5/6 player change over is needed to freshen the place up.

We wouldn't be in this mess if previous coaches and McManus had brought new blood in gradually over the years. We left it to long and this is what we got.

I remember getting slated on here for predicting that this would happen. Even top teams need to bring new blood in and get shut of deadwood. We didnt do that and now we are paying the price.
