| Hope you get him early.
Two years ago I thought he was excellent - and moved us forward as a team. The last two years have been a mixture of tinkering , playing players out of position , and continual unrest behind the scenes.
You are welcome to him now , but think you are a better club than he is a coach to be honest.
Still he keeps being a fan interesting...
Enjoy.

| Quote No1 Saint="No1 Saint"Another pretty poor shudds performance , out of the cup and in free fall in the league will be get the boot?? If he does he could spend the rest of the season working on recruitment and planning for us next year
, anyone think he could take up a more official capacity at the club this year ?'"
I like saints. Great club. I wouldn't wish you harm but the sooner you take NB from us the better (for the giants)
NB is a terrific assistant coach. Get him out there for the crack with the lads and improving them technically. Great. But leading a team and winning the big games.....can't do it.

| Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"I've only been an active fan of the sport since 2007 as I've said on here before (watched it loads on the TV since being a nipper thanks to family who have been avid Saints supporters for donkeys years). I'm wondering, has rugby league always been this melodramatic?'"
There've always been dramas but they are amplified tremendously by the media at the disposal of every fan these days - Twitter, Facebook, messageboards, comments on online newspapers - and rumours and conjecture spread infinitely more quickly than they did in, say, the '80s and '90s.

| Agree with many concerns about Nathan Brown, great assistant, little like Brian Mac at Leeds, but then he has some top players who can raise their game at times.

| Brown is a tinkerer at Huddersfield because he's got less quality options that we have. As long as he doesn't decide that Wilkin is our organiser I'll be okay.

| looks fairly clear to me what is going on. Brown and Paul Anderson will have different philosophies and outlooks on the game/tactics etc...the players will be more keen to impress Anderson than Brown - after all he is their coach next year. Therefore they all start to listen to Anderson and follow his advice, and ignoring Brown's coaching.
Will always be a recipe for disaster for the new coach to be in position as an assistant to an incumbent coach.

| Lest we forget. Hudds were top of Super League when Brown agreed to come to the Red Vee. It is since then that things have started to go wrong. Announcing he was leaving mid season was always going to cause problems, especially when everyone knew it was to another SL club. For example, it was different when DA left Saints as he was going elsewhere.
Its almost like him saying "I am going to Saints as they afford me better chances of success".
If he tinkers with the Saints lets hope it's at FB and one of the wings. The possibilities are endless: Meil to Prop? Roby to Scrum Half? Lance full time hooker? Lomax to 6?

But as the quality of the squad has been improved from 2009 he has tinkered more and more. He tinkered very little in 2009 (our best year under Brown) More quality players has meant more combinations and permutations to tinker with. And boy does he like to tinker.
Afer a loss to salford at magic weekend he moved full back to wing, wing to full back, second row to centre, centre to loose forward and right wing to left centre. Result...lose to Widnes.
Did getting the Saints job force him to do this? No. Its in his character.

| It will be interesting to see how we handle this. I just think we're not capable of winning SL this season so why not use the remaining games to work through the tactical changes he's going to make and hit next season running with a bit of optimism rather than limping out of the playoffs this year and starting next season slowly, which is what would happen if we delayed his arrival.
Rush also said he doesn't want to do the job any longer than is required, so it seems better for all parties to make the change now.
