Were you there?
I'm sure he gave away about four or five penalties maybe more. I'll count them when I watch the game again.

Not this again!
You must learn that not every negative comment about a Saints player is automatic trolling but just somebody being honest. If a guy gives away a number of penalties and has a reputation as a potential 'loose cannon' it's understandable that it's pointed out he may cost you at some point. He will also win you more then he costs you because he's a good player.
If you wanted to come back with Liam Farrell was a niggly and Ill disciplined sod today who will cost Wigan in a proper game if he plays like that I'd fully agree and not take it as a trolling attempt.

Yes I was there. Burns was no more ill-disciplined than Farrell.
Suggesting the game winner was a tackle in the 60th minute, and not the fact we ripped you to pieces to go 22-0 up, is nothing short of ludicrous.

Haha I've just commented on Farrell.
It was the comment about the game changing moment that made me laugh to be honest.

| Good game for a friendly, that was. I didn't go to the Widnes game but wanted to go to this one.
We seem to be involving our wingers a lot more in plays, especially kicking across. Some of these came off, some didn't, but it's good to see as I don't think we've really exploited the pace we now have on our wings previously.
I was well impressed by Vea. Boy does he get through some work, and all of it quality. Burns was great. Sure, he'll give away pens and no doubt get binned too, but its worth it for what he brings to the table.
There were too many errors from both sides: it was a comedy of them at one point. But that's the nature of friendlies I reckon, as plays are worked and combinations practised. Personnel changes in the second half for both teams brought different reactions: Wigan looked better but we looked worse. However, we managed to pull ourselves together for the last 10 minutes or so.
All in all a good run out. 6888 turned up which wasn't too shabby and the atmosphere was good. I enjoyed chanting all the championes stuff. It's my first time as a Saints supporter that my team have been champs so I was looking forward to indulging myself in some fun chanting!
I'm aware that friendlies mean nothing in the grand scheme of things but to win at home against the Pies was a nice bonus on a gloomy January afternoon!

Whereas I suppose micky Mac is just tough and good at getting under players skins. . . .
To be fair, you lot are experts on discipline costing you so I suppose we should listen. Why was Ben Flower not selected today?

| 6888 is an excellent attendance.
There are a few clubs that would take that for a standard attendance.
Just shows how the game has moved on.

| I know that Wigan we're missing a few players such as O'Loughlin, Flower, Sarginson, Powell and Mossop but to me it seems they have a lack of experience compared to us. Now this may just be me talking rubbish (more than likely is), but comparing the two squads and even the first 17s (going off numbers) it seems that is somewhere we have an edge over them for this season.

| Average display, Amor was the best prop on show.
Greenwood was very good again.

| Quote: SLS "Wane's signed so many props precisely to compete with Saints' front row. It's no surprise considering in both the game at Wigan and the Grand Final, Wigan constantly had to go wide to make ground. Their entire prop rotation made the same amount of metres as Luke Thompson at Old Trafford. They've no answer to Saints up front, especially Masoe's aggression, who has really set the tone on our last two meetings. Wane has signed three props to try and redress the balance. To beat us, they'll have to compete with Amor (who one laughable Wigan dimwit this time last year announced wouldn't get in the Wigan 17
This is what I wrote a couple of weeks ago in response to Wiganers lavishing praise on their pack. Today again, they rocked up at Saints and got battered up front. They cannot compete up front with Saints, nowhere near with Crosby, Clubb and co. Not big or strong enough. Forget their fancy plays and bluster, in this game if you can't play the middle of the park, you're going to lose. Three times now, Saints have dominated the centre of the field against Wigan and three times been victors. Obviously, Mossop, Tautai and Flower were missing today and you'd expect them to sure things up a lot but in truth, none of them are in the same league as Amor or Walmsley and none of them match Masoe's sheer size. Savelio is going to play quite a bit and Vea is going to play a lot of centre field as well icon_wink.gif
Oh, and Smith and Williams were as pedestrian as it gets as well.
Lots to work on for Wigan.

Lomax came out of a tackle late in the first half limping. Looked like the same injury as he was holding his leg like be did last time it went. He didn't come back on second half

Cheers. According to KC on the website it was a knock to his back but he's OK.
