| So I have just finished finished watching the game streaming over the internet on cricfree. Thanks Cricfree.
I`m a through and through Saints fan and it is always a good day when we beat Wigan. I have to say i`m amazed at the comments by fans on this board and the commentators.
That game was terrible, slow and boring. If you watch the NRL week in and week out like me you would understand. No wonder we (England & GB) get beaten at international level.
Super league lacks, passion, intensity, skill, pace and to be honest cohesion.
Having said that - Nice to see the saints back at the rightful place - top of the league.

| Yes to stay awake. Are you seriously trying to say that was a good game. If you think that is quality, you are missing out on so much. Poor you.

Absolutely rubbish! Most NRL games are no where near that standard. News flash - the NRL isn't like state of origin every week.
Yes it's bigger, better and more competitive than SL, but that game tonight was superb. Not every game of NRL is like that. Absolutely myth thay every game of NRL is a nail biter full of big hits!!

I watch the NRL every week via Premier Sports as do a lot of RL fans over here. What you saw tonight was a team that lost its primary play maker early in the game take the fight to a team that has dominated us all too often in recent years. It was (relatively) slow because Bentham reffed it that way but boring? Never!
Having just watched the Manly-Roosters game before I watched the Wigan-Saints game I saw no difference in pace or intensity and Saints' kicking game was superior. Our attack suffered for the loss of Luke Walsh. But we still did a tremendous job against a team that sets out to spoil whenever it can.

| Nice on Bull Mania and Saints Fan. The top SL sides i reckon can give the NRL sides a game and a half. My memory isn't the greatest but the SL sides have more than given the NRL sides a game in the World Cup Club matches. Our forwards (NZ saint) have steamrollered your antipodeon lot in the recent world cup. I have good memories of James Graham, Roby, and George Burgess being a decent front row with Sam Burgess, Westwood and Shaun O' Lochlan being a fairly decent back row. This side of the pond- I reckon we have a fairly good idea of how rugby should be played.

| Interesting comments, we all have our own views.
I think true rugby league fans all know that the worst NRL team would beat the best Super League teams 9 times out of 10.
Look at the consistency and cohesion of NRL vs Super League. This cannot be disputed.
Oh and on the Origin comment, the games are awesome and GO THE BLUES

| Sadly missed the game live due to me being dosy and agreeing to being social without realising. Stayed up to watch the extended highlights only to find despite being scheduled it was some rubbish documentary about rivalry (which will result in an angry email to sky tomorrow) - and decided to watch the half 2 replay.
All I can take away from it is I assume it was phil Clarke who edited it! For anyone wanting to watch it again, I found the commentry near unbearable. At one time I had to check the score again to make sure Wigan hadn't won by 50.
Don't understand why the wiganers are claiming the first try was forward from Flanaghan (which was the only good thing I saw him do) - didn't even look a flat pass from the tv angles, if it had been SOL it wouldn't of even been mentioned. Great to see a lot of the youngsters have great games, Thompson looked particularly impressive - did well with the last pass for wellens' try too.
Swift got exposed a couple of times tonight, but I can assume that will be rectified with him just coming back. Percival looked threatening every time he touched the ball.
Hopefully Walsh won't be long term, and we can use this as the building block for a platform for the rest of the season
Edit: oh, and congratulations to Tommy Makinson for beating Francis Meli's 16 tries which was last years top try tally for us!

I think you have a narrow minority viewpoint, you are only seeing what the camera shows the game is a lot more than that.

So what is your opinion on the last SOO game? No doubt you'll think it was a classic as the Blues won but for a neutral like myself it was a booooooooooring, niggly snoozefest. I pay to watch the NRL too via Premier Sports and have yet to witness this great quality of which you speak.

And Wigan will have the home crowd so any 50/50 will go their way. Nice advantage to have.

I said the home advantage always sways a ref. Looks like you did better out of it than just 50/50.
At least if we keep up our run we might get that in our favour next time.

He was right about the home crowd though. 4 chavs and a drum as opposed to us lot not shutting up all night.

| I think looking back at this game it would be fair to say both sides lacked a cutting edge. There was a lot of effort and well structured defence but there were no game breakers.
I think you can put this down to Green and Walsh (for most of the game) being absent and the rain.
I think both coaches will have mixed feeling on that game.

Agree.
Both sides defended well in the middle, hence all six tries being scored out wide, but some of the pass execution was not as crisp as they would hope for. I also think Farrell was a big miss for Wigan in that left channel.
But it was a great game to watch between two well matched sides.
