I doubt he will come back, not if he enjoys it there and is offered a contract, particularly if Koukash follows through on his ambitions. Why would he come back to a club that has treated him shoddily if he is having a good time at Salford?

Do we actually know if he has been treated shoddingly or do we assume that the common denominator is that Gaskell was not rated for first team selection by our last 3 coaches.

| I don't want to comment on this too much but as I've said before there's a reason Gaskell was dropped. I hope he finds a good career for himself at another club in Super League, whether that be Salford, Wigan, Hull or the likes but it won't be at St Helens.

Last two coaches, not three. Simmons played him; gave him his debut season (albeit not a full season). Rush dropped him the minute he took over and Brown came out with some BS about him being a key man in the team, gave him all of three games and then dropped him. I think Rush is the common denominator here. And yes, I do think he has been treated shoddily. He wasn't even given the chance to play alongside someone with some experience in Wilkin. He certainly hasn't been given the investment or opportunity that Lomax has.
And you may have noticed that in recent times when players are loaned out to Salford, we don't see them under contract at Saints again.

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

| Makes you wonder who calls the shots? was it just the last coach that dropped him? anyone loaned out to Hull does not seem to return and he keeps banging those goal conversions over!

Do you know or are you speculating? It seems like something must have happened to go from first choice to behind kids and old fullbacks, it's just too much of a slide.

I'm suprised we haven't seen him over the past month or so and would personally prefer to have him at 6 than Hohaia, but I'm not convinced by your argument that Rush's opinions are dictating to Brown.
Its a shame, but I can only assume that the deciding factor is something that we, as fans, are not privvie to.
Good luck with your career, Lee.
The highlights of salford - hudds are on the SL website. Gaskell's try is a screamer, great break and good pace to take the full back on the outside. To be fair though, he's badly positioned for a miss on Ferres shortly after for a try and appears to get steamrollered by Crabtree (not exactly the most heinous of crimes, mind) in the build up to another. Mixed bag, but he'll only get better with weekly first team action.

He was offered about £12,000 a year ( will double check with my source for accuracy). Not surprised he turned it down.

A £12,000 raise or £12,000 annual salary?

Salary. As I said I will double check for accuracy. I could have misunderstood as I was told in a noisy pub.

If that's true then it's shocking.
