| Why are so many people pinning their hopes on Lomax? Before his injuries he was a good player. Good, no outstanding, not great, not even very good and certainly not the second coming of Jonathon Thurston like so many on here think he is.
The poor lad will be a scapegoat within a month of his return

He was so important to our attack it was unreal. He can make something happen and at fullback teams struggled with him as he has freedom to drift in and out the game

| J-lo's games was based on being able change direction quickly and wrong footing defences. This mobility requires great knee flexibility, which I doubt he still has, but I hope to be proved wrong

If he comes back fit I would keep Mc Donnell out wide as he hasn't done much wrong; or right unfortunately as he doesn't add much to our awful attack from FB.
Dawson has grown on me but Turner has lost whatever it was when we signed him from Hull.
He has no defence, no attack, no positional sense, no passing; just woeful.
I just hope Lomax comes back with conviction but I'm not holding my hopes up as it will be tough for him.

An 80% Lomax is good enough for this standard of Superleague at the moment. Turner needs to be dropped when we get our injured players back, its a pity though that our coaching team can't sort his weakness's out or maybe its just not in him to progress. Dawson has improved this year and looks better at centre than wing just needs to use his winger (when we have one) a bit more.

Doesn't show how our standards have dropped if Dawson is now classed decent?
All Nathan Brown's hard work in his two years has been ruined in one and half years of KC and company. After 4 years of transition we are now back to square one and it's hard to argue that we are in the worst shape since super league started.
It needs a coach to come in again like Brown did and cut the dead wood and bring in some good players.
For me all the players in going to list are not good enough. I know we can't cut then all due to contracts etc but I'd cut these if possible
SMD
Peyroux
Turner
Dawson
Owens
Burns
Walsh
Richards
Tasi
Wilkin (got to be first out the door)
We then have the borderline players that hanging by a thread
Lomax (based on injures)
Walsh
Tommy
Greenwood
LMS (probably our best player this year but imo it's wanting new contract form)
Vea.
Easier to add who I'd keep tbh but can add Savelio to this list who's been awful this year.

| It was the Travis Burns Show in the reserves today with a scoreline unconfirmed of around 48 to 18 (Saints). Also unconfirmed think Johnny Lomax got injured in the game, Cunningham and Long in attendance to see who they can play next week.

I have to disagree with you here. You are normally bang on but not with this. Ive watched us home and away for years and he certainly was never a player to just make things happen in the same way that Longy used to. Not trying to bag him as hes a good player, just no where near as good as the majority of Saints fans think he is

Longy was a 7 involved in the middle of the park , Jonny was fullback who drifts in and out the game.
Longy is the biggest match winner I've ever seen. The amount of games he's won for Saints is probably different level to any saints player in our history. He was a born match winner.
Lomax is/was the perfect modern day fullback. He's safe on kicks, good in defence, clears his line well, acts as the extra pivot and basically good all round.

| Turner's not being helped by consistently picking him in the midfield. Right now he's just too heavy to play in the centres. I can't imagine Saints would allow him to play if he is consistently shoving cheeseburgers into his gut therefore there's been a conscious effort by the coaching team to bulk him up.
Turner's positives have always been good footwork, running dangerous lines and an eye for a gap. It's the reason he's scored such a high number of tries in SL. By putting an extra stone (or more) on the guy we've completely neutralised these strengths while further exacerbating his defensive issues.
I'd be interested to know what his try-scoring ratio is at centre vs other positions. I suspect it has dropped off a cliff recently.

KC tried him at 6 and looked pretty adamant he was staying at 6,,so why would they try and bulk him up to play 6?
I agree, it's not helped JT being messed around like KC has with him. Last year he was a centre, then he was dropped for few weeks, then he was bench player, then KC said he seen him as ball playing 13 like Sean O'Loughlin (funny as fu*k), then was moved to 6 this year. He's certainly been messed about but he's been rubbish at every position.
He's a out and out centre imo but a poor one. His whole defensive game is awful. He missed one on ones, he makes terrible reads and is soft as a bag of dog s*it.
I'd 100% cut him when he's off contract.
