At this point in time, experience and yards are important and Gardner brings both.

Defence is equally important. No good making yards or having experience but not defending effectively.

All anyone ever goes on about with regard to Gardner is his kick returns. We must be bloody desperate is all I can say because when last I listened to people who knew about rugby league, there was a whole lot more to a winger than bloody kick returns. Gardner has brought nothing else to the team this season.

If he's so good at taking the ball forward then play him in the forwards where he can do it to his heart's content and stick Swift on the wing, a player who has pace and can catch a bomb as well as bring back the ball.

i think the right thing to do is have Makinson at fb until lomax returns. Ade on the wing over Swift makes sense too, to bring much needed experience on the flanks. Swift looks good, but needs drip feeding into the team.

How do you think you'll go on at HKR bearing in mind AFAIK your last win there was in the C Cup?

The decision on Ade is the right one. It is a bear pit and he has the experience to steady things a touch. I actually fancy us if LMS and Lafranchi just do the right things.

I think so too, would always go for experienced wingers in this situation, Gardner and Meli are proper wingers and take a lot of energy out of the opposition. Brown has gone for the right options for this game.
