If Cas are to make an anouncement, the chances are it will be on a thursday (the day the local weekly paper comes out) so if we don't hear anything then, im guessing things aren't finalised.

emmit has signed a two year deal and fozzard a pay has you play deal.

On Boots n All tonight it was confirmed that Fozzard has 'been released' from Saints. No mention of another club.

Any news your end? Radio 5 last night apparently said Emmit had signed for Cas.

Nothing confirmed here yet but the rumours are flying around.

The rumour is from the Leigh end that Emmitt has gone to Cas, as a lot of Leigh fans wanted us to try and get him back on loan next year. Good player.

I wouldnt expect either to be announced this week as we have a major sponsorship announcement due in the local press.

Would expect Fozzard to be announced next week, And Emmitt to be announced as soon as his commitments are over with you this season.

I am hoping we have used our heads with the Fozzard deal, But i am pleased with the Emmitt signing, Him and Johnny Walker are 2 big units, And both very young

Mmmm, not the end of the world but does feel strange to let him go, just when he was starting to make real progress.

I can only assume the board's motivation includes:
Clough will end up a prop, with Dixon, Ashurst and McGennis filling any backrow void.
Frodsham will finally put his injury woes behind him and step up to the plate.

Strange one. He's come in as a kid and evicted Fozzard from his squad position. He was surely one they should have been looking to keep. We should have signed him up and released the likes of Frodsham and Wheeler.

He mentions that he could have stayed at Saints, so presumably there is at least some cap room available now.

Rumours still flying round about Graham and Clough doesn't as yet have a new contract.

I wish people would stop getting at Frodsham. He's a year younger than Emmitt and a year ago people were mocking Emmitt and saying he'll never make it. "More aggression in a labrador puppy" I seem to remember.

Next year will be Frodsham's acid test, just as this year was Emmitt's. The club clearly see something in him so I'm happy to see how he goes next year.

Good luck to Emmitt - we have established players in Perry/Jammer/LMS/TP/Clough who will all be ahead of him in the pecking order for a prop spot, so I don't blame him for moving on, nor do I blame Saints for not throwing cash at him to keep him in the squad.

I would have liked to have kept Emmitt around, that said he has looked a touch on the slow side to me in recent weeks. There are also five better players at prop here next year, and Gareth Frodsham who is younger than Emmitt so not a surprise.



Not much I would suspect - just because he had an option to stay doesn't mean he was offered an upgrade on what he was already on.

Frodsham has suddenly had a lot more pressure heaped on his shoulders.

FWIW, and from what I have seen, Emmit is more likely to 'make it' than Frodsham, but I'm sure the club know best.

Going back to Emmit, I guess at the end of the day, if cas made him a decent offer along with an increased chance of a regular shirt, saints would have been stretched to justify matching it, considering our front row recruitment.

??? Pressure??? Basically he needs to wait for his chance and then take it when it comes along. No more pressure than any other youngster. Although, if he wants to carve out a career, he'll have to learn to deal with it.
