| Quote moyle="moyle"Not really suprised they're unfit- walking back to the train station today I saw Meli and Tony P in spicy chicken(?) (near Old English Pub), don't think the Wigan squad would get away with that with Maguire in charge. =#FF0000I heard he has them in the swimming pool after the games.'"
He does and then they all sit down for meal together.

| Didnt notice anything wrong with Saints stamina, although we did have a few players out there who were playing somewhat busted up going into the game and shouldnt really have played.
If there was a problem with fitness at Saints, then Wigan would have run away with it in the second half. Reality however was that the majority of the 2nd half was spent with Wigan struggling to get out of their own half.
Infact it could be argued that the sin binning and rash of penalties that Wigan conceeded was down to them slowing the game down in an attempt to limit their fatigue, due to tiredness.

| Yeah I agree Chair. The Pies are now all in the post orgasm glow where they will now remember back on their herculean side tearing limbs off the poor Saints players, their forum is full of tales of how they 'pwned' our pack and how they 'killed it'.
In truth it was our own absolute stupidity that cost us. I reckon we bombed 5 or 6 full sets on their line through basic and unforced errors.

| Quote jonh="jonh"A big thing i noticed today is the conditioning or lack of it, the players look out of condition, never seen Cunningham look so rounded, but most of them look to be carrying a bit of additional pounds. I knew Eastmond was no out and out 100 meter man but the way Locky left him for dead stunned me, he also looks a it more chunky this season.
A good few of their pack looked out on their feet despite the dominance in the second period off the back of the penalties. I feel Wigans superior conditioning played a major part in our victory today.
Posted this on the Wigan board too just wondered what you lot felt also.'"
Watched the game last night on sky, i think you will probaly find eastmond was more worried about lockers passing it to a faster guy. He was just jogging beside him as another saints player was closer to lockers.

You cant always win games playing open attractive rugby. Wigan weren't at there best but there defence was great. Top teams can win games when there not at there best, like saints used to do in there day

The problem though pal, we was on your line for best part of 30 mins in the 2nd half and only scored when you was down to 12 men.
Im pretty sure the score would have been much higher if it was the other way round.
We didn't play to bad but shoukd have put more points on the board.
IMO we are 3 players away from being a top side.

Yep, I agree. I think the only difference between us was composure: they had it and we didn't.

| The game was a mirror image of the games in the wet last season. There is not much between the teams, it was just that this time it was Wigans turn to take their chances and Saints not take theirs.
Having watches the sky + recording I do think that Roberts was unlucky to get sin binned. Pryce dummied the tap twice and then actually touched the ball with his foot at which point Roberts had every rite to make the tackle.
