| I think we are really looking at these players with 3 different styles. Foz with his in your face style, Jammer with his gain momentum style and TonyP with his "big tanker" style. Big Maurie being a combination of all three.
TonyP is quite impressive on defence, he,s probably the best we have in stopping the opposition gaining momentum, once we get the drier grounds he will get better offensively.
Thought Jammer was brilliant Friday night and all our props did OK, can,t remember any of our props being forced backwards which we did with the wakey front row.

| Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"That's his most important role IMO.
Foz is just a barger but we so needed a barger all last season when Jammer was ground down to an ankle bone carrying the squad week in, week out.
Tony P, however, strikes me as lazy and should be put in a position where he can't avoid working.'"
I agree with this, tony p has the kiwi laid back attitude(lazy at times), so he should be played prop. He's played his best games at prop IMO.

| I on't think he had his best game the other day, but he seems to have been playing well in the previous couple of games in a wider role. His offloading game outwide gives Pryce in particular extra space to break the line.

He's like a lot of Islander forwards. They play when they can be d.

| Fresh scapegoat needed whilst Potter is on a winning streak, Pryce has had a couple of good games and Gardner is out? Hardly a mention of old Francis since he got back as well, blimey.

Don't be daft.
If you look back at old threads you will see that some fans have expressed slight disquiet over Tony P's engagement in matches before. He blasted on to the scene for a few weeks, caught a virus, and he hasn't been the same since either because he got comfortable or the coaching is in some way not bringing the best out of him.
And Potter isn't out of the woods either. Don't mistake silence for contentment!
Meli was just the same as ever on Friday: unreliable under the high ball.
No difference in Pryce either: he took his time getting going but once he did get going, he certainly made his presence felt.
You see, nothing changes. It's just that fans notice certain players in certain games either because they were exceptionally good or because they were poor.

| Quote The Chair Maker="The Chair Maker"2nd top metre making forward for Saints this year, behind Maurie.
What Fozzie is doing is making yards by running onto the ball fast, then going down easy to ensure a quick play the ball.
Personally think he is doing a fine job, and is taking a lot of the pressure off Graham.'"
Absolutely. Never been flash, always done the same job and has done it damned well. Good one-season signing, I think.

| I seem to remember a lot of fans saying more or less the same things about Vinnie Anderson when he was here ( lazy, has to be in the mood, etc ) maybe it's a Kiwi thing ?

| Not so sure we got Fozzy to take pressure off Jammer?
News to me and probably news to Fozzy.
