You could at a push get a bus from outside the station into St. Helens town centre. You would need to check bus times first but they shouldn't be too bad at that time of the night. then you can get one to the ground or walk it. You could even call into the George for a quick pint while you are in the centre.

Look for a big queue, and walk straight past it.

Could even get the bus from Thatto Heath station and get off at the Bird, only down the road from there. But yeah, probably only about a 15 minute walk from Thatto Heath station, straight forward too.

AFAIK the Saintsbus service between Lea Green station, St Helens Bus Station and Knowsley Road will be the same as last season but the [url=http://www.merseytravel.gov.uk/newsarticle.asp?articleid=868&catid=1link[/url is old,from 2006 so phone Merseytravel on 0151 227 5181 and check it out. I would of thought that there would have been something out about it if they had cancelled it and a lad i know who uses it said it was quite popular so cant see any reason for them cancelling it.
