Playing him in the pack is pointless because given what passes for your front row you need a pair of grafters to carry their dead weight. How do you rate Sam Powell, Rogues? Presuming Tomkins, Williams, Smith and Hampshire will in one combination or another be taking up the 1, 6, 7 and rotation 9 positions, do you see a place for him in the side?

From watching him as a youngster he reminded me very much of Tommy Leuluai as he is a very strong defender but lacks a bit of pace. As such I think he is more suited to the #9 position. I have a feeling he may be one who Wigan have to let go.

So what your saying is, if a player packs down in a position in the scrum, it means he has played in that position for the entire game? Wow, we must have 9 players playing in the forwards most games!
