So we got two ex fullbacks that in reality shouldn't (or not wanted by most fans) be in the 17. None have the rugby brain to direct us around the park. None of them have a kicking game.
Very strange IMO. We can usually get away with have one of them partnering either Wilkin or Walsh but I don't think we will get away with both in the halves.'"

Come on, now is not the time for points scoring amongst the fans, I'm sure the respective posters will put their hands up during the week.
But right now, the only thing we should be doing is congratulating the team for their fabulous performance!

Agree - however there are those who are determined to ignore the evidence and slag off certain players - it needs pointing out.

And you think wello played the traditional 7 role? He played like a back row.

It was a great team performance, Wello included. His defence was superb and he put in some decent kicks, but he didn't really play as a halfback. Not knocking him at all, he was brilliant tonight, just saying he didn't really play as a scrum half.

Despite Wello having a key role in the Wakefield win you say....
Shouldn't be in the 17
Not wanted by most fans - have you conducted a survey or something
No kicking game - Lance kicked great and Wello chipped in with the odd decent kick ( not forgetting Wello's kick for a try last week)
Let's start dealing in facts not the inaccurate propaganda you seem intent on repeating every week

| Why is this going on tonight?
Whatever role wello was given by his coach tonight, he did it masterfully. I don't think anyone can argue with that.

I was only pointing out that Wellens didn't play as a halfback. Whatever position he played, he was brilliant tonight!

Fully agree.
Heroic performance from the whole 17 and it was an excellent win.
The petty bickering isn't necessary.

If you recall this was exactly the issue after the Wakey game - we had a great win, Wello played a significant part and the usual suspects were ripping the back out of him - despite not going to the game.
Similar barbed comments before this game - it needs to be highlighted otherwise it will just carry on regardless of how Wello and the likes of Lance perform.
I've made my point - I'll log off and watch the game again - COYS - Fantastic Performance 1 - 17

Sorry but you have took a win and used it to start a Wello conversation. People could have eaten their own words or not, but by using the first opening 5 post on this thread after a match to have a go, it's effectively spoiled possible one of the best wins.
When was the last time ramming down someones neck that they were wrong convinced anyone over to your point of view?

| I've been a massive critic of Wellens over the last few years, but he put in a big shift for us tonight. I think Brown trusted Lomax with a bit more of the creative work from fullback and that took the pressure off Wellens in the halves and let him play to his strengths. He even managed to shift the ball on fairly quickly tonight when needed.
I actually think Hohaia's kicking game is underrated by many fans. He puts some excellent kicks in whenever he plays. IMO, he's just not consistent enough to be the main organiser of the team.

| I though wello was good tonight. Worked hard and showed some good strength on the Makinson 1st try.
It's one of my proudest moments as a saints fan seeing the likes of greenwood, Richards, walker, Thompson and Saveilo really standing up against a big experienced pack like Leeds.
We forget also how young lomax, swift, jones and Dawson are as Weill.
