| Quote: The Chair Maker "Its comments like that that will make those who didnt watch the game think that Foster was to blame for Earls try. The reality was the break and try were scored through the middle of the pitch nowhere near Foster.
Personally thought JF had a really good game, he was strong returning the ball and two or three times beat the Huddersfield winger George on the outside.
The 80 metre try Foster scored was brilliant and showed good pace, ably assisted by Turner who was a real handful with ball in hand.
Manu was a beast and deservedly got the MOM'"
I thought Andy lynch was man of the match, he's a top class prop but Manu had good game and will be good for us.

tongue in cheek mate
He did well tonight and I liked the look of Turner although he does look raw to me like he needs some good coaching. Still not sure he'll get a gig in the Saints first team though unless Brown rotates the backs a bit during the season like Smith has at Dire

Realised that, but other people may not have seen the smiley or understood its significance.
On a different note.
Imagine a scenario whereby Hull defeat Warrington, with Cats dispatching of Leeds.
Wigan would you would then expect pick Hull as the lowest placed team left.
Now think the impossible dream and Hull then defeat the pies, via a last minute Jamie Foster penalty kick.
Saints meanwhile get through by crushing Les Cats.
We would then have the difficult decision of what to do re Foster. Saints have already said he would not be allowed to play against us. However imagine if his form was excellent going into the final.
Would we then recall him and select him ahead of Meli or Makinson?
Logic would say no, however Melis grand final history would make me personally say Yes!!
not to mention the importance of a real top quality kicking game in the final.

If we played Hull in the final then there's nothing that Meli could do to lose us it

Select him ahead of Meli any day! Makinson though should definitely play in a final if we get there. He turned the last one around in our favour with one of his superb finishes.

| Came on here a couple of weeks back to criticise him, so only fair that I come back and do the opposite.
Thought he had a great game last night, made much more yards than usual and strong in defence.
Turner was excellent also.
Manu was Manu.

| So how does it lie now? Jamie seems very settled at Hull now, cracking jokes and interacting well on twitter with fans and players alike. I'd prefer to see him at Saints, he's better than he's made out to be.

| I think its 50 / 50 to which club he will be at next year, I understand talks are ongoing, but I think it is safe to say he has had a good time at Hull and is looking more and more settled by the day.

But that is exactly why a club sends a player out on loan, to let the player settle and improve. If he has proved his worth to Saints, (which I am still not convinced about) then he should be recalled. Otherwise, he should be allowed to leave. He certainaly hasn't done anything in his time at Hull to suggest that he has moved up the order at Saints, ahead of Meli, Makinson or Gardner, so I guess it is time to let him go. If we get a bit of wonga in return, then all well and good.

| Isn't it strange how he looks so much better when he's getting better ball in space and he looks good.
At saints he hardly got put in the clear due to us not having the halves to move the ball wide.
I just hope Turber and Manu don't suffer the same.

That could work well for Saints, if Hull are happy to only have him on loan for another year.

Would be a bizzare and nice situation, be a shame if Jamie did miss out on the final if that happened and you didnt select him.
Has played well at Hull and gained his confidence back, cant see him being at Saints next year as he doesnt seem to be a Nathan Brown type player but cant see Hull taking him permantly due to having Briscoe, Lineham and apparently Jason Crookes coming in
Not sure if mentioned in this thread, but you can recall him at 24 hours notice

Having top quality kicking cost us last season. We had Leeds on the ropes, and chose an improbable 50 yard kick over smacking it into the corner and looking for a now trademark barge over try.
