Quote: D.D. "Off the track a bit but I read a couple of comment sbout Potter's tactics of five drives and a kick. Where have you been since 2005? They were our tactics throughout the Daniel Anderson era.
As for Wilkin, I have felt for many years that we don't utilise the lad in the best way. He's a ball handler, who can kick and create gaps yet we continually bung him in the second row whilst having people like Flannery, Clough and even Gilmour coming into the loose role during the games.
It might be just me but why not give him a more defining role at loose and get the other less creative players playing in the second row and prop where they are probably more suited anyway.
As it happens, Wilkin's work rate is fantastic and he goes through a massive amount of unseen work but we are just not getting the best out of him.'"
Agreed. Wilkin should play 13 and be given more license. Ando's tactics were a lot more conservative than Millward's but there was still room for flair and creativity. Under Potter we seem to have a very restricted style and we don't seem to take risks anymore.
Obviously a lack of pace stops us being dangerous from anywhere outside the 20 (Bar Gilmour).
Hopefully Eastmond and Lomax can be brought through to solve this little problem.
