| Quote: bewareshadows "There is no point saying fans should not have a go at a player if they feel there is a lack of loyalty.
Part of sport has always been cheering your own and booing those who are not.
CLubs sell loyalty and passion as part of their marketing. Sport is psychological as well as physical.
So if he is moving to Warrington, he's going to get it off the fans. There are no two ways about it. Either you want fans to partake in the game and show passion and turn up, or you want sport to be played in an empty stadia with just a TV audience to take the emotion and passion away.
Take Gary Connelly, he got it in the neck for years and years off Saints fans. We can't go out there and tackle the players, but we can do our best to knock their confidence.
You may not like it and feel everyone should be professional about it, but even players give each other verbals on the field. You play for money but the people paying the wages have the right to express themselves too.'"
Good post , its all part of the game. If he does leave and head to Dire he will be the new Connolly and I'd expect him to get slaughtered everytime he plays us. Been a few years since we've heard 'Judas' chants

| Hi chaps. Sorry about the previous posts. Had a few too many last night. I'm not a big fan of Saints due to the fact you've done us over more times than I'd like to remember. In a funny sort of way it's respect. If I didn't genuinely fear and respect the red vee, then I wouldn't have posted those comments. All the best and (kind of) good luck in CC.

| I very much doubt that Savelio is being treated harsher than any other youngster who has come through the Saints ranks.
How many kids over the last thirty years, who have been any good, have left the club prematurely? Which means Saints are very good at matching the financial needs of the player against the restrictions imposed by the balance sheet.
Savelio seems to think his talents are above that which every other kid (right up to the likes of James Graham) has been satisfied with.
It's a sad situation, but ultimately the club is right not to roll over in the face of a loaded gun. Had they done so then every other kid at the club would instantly have cause to look at their own contracts.
Besides, we're not short of talented kids coming through who can slot into the back row. Young Knowles is a cracking prospect and by next season he'll be knocking on the door for a shot on the bench.

I'd say loose now. Probably end up as prop if he continues to get bigger, but could play anywhere in the pack.

i don,t think the club really knows, he can,t do really long minutes what might be required at loose forward, we,ve been using him as prop behind Amor, Walmsley, Richards and Mose, prior to injuries second row was Vea, Greenwood and Thompson. He,s not really nailed down a position for himself and has been used sparingly.
A really fit Sav playing a bit smarter probably loose forward, trouble is he seems to be a bit laid back and needed to be more dynamic and energetic.

| The big problem Savelio is going to have to contend with is weight. The kid has one hell of a physique and the sky is the limit if he treats his body like any other professional sportsman.
Unfortunately that frame could very easily turn against him should he fail to manage his diet. In many ways he reminds me of David Solomona. A bit bigger. Not as quick. Similar hands.
I mean, Solomona was still a good player. But he could have been so much more had he managed his weight professionally.

| Similar hands to Solomona? Not sure I agree with that, that guy was a magician with the ball. To me, Savelio reminds me of a more mobile version of Kylie Leuluai.
Your point about his weight is valid, but I think your advice would be more appropriate for Greg Richards, the kid is becoming a pudding.
I also think Walsh and Burns seem to be developing a belly surplus.

Savelio is capable of much more with his hands. He's dialed his ball handling back significantly since moving up. Once he gets himself established I'm sure he'll start to cut loose.

Richards is a squad player who will be quickly replaced by the cohort below him if his performances aren't up to scratch. His future is in his own hands. I'm certainly not concerned about him. Walsh hasn't had any kind of pre-season to speak of so it's hardly surprising he's out of shape. The guy's lucky still to be playing after that injury. As for Burns, he's always been a tubby little bugger. Even back in the NRL.

| Quote: Offside Monkey "I was about to question that, but you got the league leaders in 2011. Lineham should be an excellent signing, are you losing Monaghan or is he staying on? Gidley will either be as good as Hodgeson or as disastrous as Bowen, or somewhere in between.
I don't know enough about Sandow to comment.
I still, as a young prop forward, wouldn't be leaving Saints for Wire unless there was a substantial pay increase.'"
Monas is staying from what I'm led to believe.

| Quote: SLS "Look, if the guy wants to swap a seat at the top table of British RL for the cavernous pit of mediocrity that is our Cheshire neighbours then let him get on with it. More fool him and his mother in this instance. The lad's a talent but let's see how much of a talent he is in another 18 months stuck at that place. He'll probably end up playing half under the shambolic management that is Warrington.
Saints will move on and continue to win. Warrington don't know where their next championship is coming from. If the guy wants to forfeit what's good for his development in place of the cheap dollar, then on yer bike pal. Enjoy the RL wilderness.'"
What nonsense. You are awae that Warrington have been more successful than St Helens in the last six years.
