As did I - I cant see why everyone gets so upset about attendences. Go, Don't Go it doesnt matter to me - just don't complain about it being so low...

Why? If the club and the sport in general cannot get bums on seats neither will be in existence as a professional organisation for much longer.

| Saints - Just class!
Fantastic second half display, I couldn't care how badly we played in the second half, I was just amazed at the talent you have.
Although saying that, you have "12" players out injured, how many started that are internationals?!

| Quote: SaintsFan "The number given at the match was 2,905 and the Featherstone fans came in greater numbers than most Superleague team fans have done this season. They were also very supportive of their team and did a neat conga at one point!
Saints fans in the East Stand, such as we were, made a lot of noise in the first half when we looked like giving a try away at any moment (I'm sure Featherstone were in our half at least double the time we were in theirs during the first half) but in the second half we relaxed a bit and only made noise whenever Childs acted the idiot he is or when we were scoring.
Saints were very poor in the first half. Some of that was because Featherstone worked hard; some of it was because we were rubbish. Wello was on Twitter last night watching the boxing. Well, he could have done with going to bed if his first half performance was anything to go by! Some of the play was cringeworthy from Saints and we went into halftime looking decidedly dodgy, having only just avoided a try by Featherstone.
In the second half either Featherstone switched off or we got our act together because we looked like a different team. We improved as the second half went on and there came a point when we were scoring for fun. What was important to me, though, was that we kept Featherstone to nil. That attitude is what we need going forward. If we can replicate that against the Crusaders on Friday then we have a chance, regardless of who plays for us. However, if we look as poor as we did in the first half against any Superleague team then we will be going into halftime with a big mountain to climb - again.
Ade Gardner went off injured but apparently it is nothing serious (he hurt his shoulder). No point in risking him during the game and besides, Makinson enjoyed his time, scoring two tries.
The young guys went well. Nathan Ashe looked more confident this time out. He has very good ball control, taking a very high pass from Foster at one time while running forward to score a beauty of a try. Warren Thompson had a solid debut and scored a try of his own, which is great for him. Foster was absolutely astounding with his boot. Man, that guy has a real gift.'"
couldnt disagree more.
we made the breaks and chances in the first half, but poor handling cost us, featherstone came with a plan and tried there best to complete it.
wellens staying up till midnight watching the fight has nothing to do with how he played, i did the same and woke up at 9:30 fresh and raring to go!!
we won by such a margin because fetherstone were knackered on 50 minutes. they dropped off and we won the collision.
i do agree though that the youngsters did us proud

Like I said, we were poor. We were better defensively than last week, but not good enough for Superleague opposition in the first half. Thankfully, that changed in the second.

Sorry, did you play today?

They didn't get going in the second half. We were dominant pretty much from the get-go.

Good, because it's an accurate observation.

Seeing as your the only one who wet off here, what side did we put out?
I was in my sick bed so don't even know the team.

no i didnt play, but if wellens satyed up till midnight and played ok (which he did bar a few knock ons) you wouldnt make a comment about it.
true we dominated them in the 2nd, but you could see ahen we went 24-0 up they were blowing and shoulders were hunched, thats when the dropped off easy tackles and the flood gates opened.
im not knocking the lads today, but they wernt up against great opposition. but i was very proud of that 2nd half display.
your a bit of a narcky bugger aint you

In order of memory and not position:
Wellens, Gardner (replaced by Makinson as he hurt his shoulder and was not risked, but not serious apparently), Meli (who actually defended today!), Roby, Graham, Shenton, Foster (brilliant, that lad, and the so-called missed goal was a goal), Wilkin (absolutely superb - Simmons has done wonders with him at halfback), Armstrong, Ashe (excellent ball control), Thompson (scored a try on his debut, solid performance), Ashurst, Makinson, Magennis, Hale, LMS and Soliola.

Hell no! I'm only narky when we are beaten by Wigan or Leeds!
However, if we continue putting in poor first half performances, regardless of injuries, then I think I might start getting narky more often!
Oh, and Wello is 31 years old. A man of his age should be sitting in bed with a mug of cocoa at 10.30pm the night before a game, not tweeting about the boxing until gone midnight!

Perhaps you should have been tucked in instead of stalking Wello on Twitter at Half Twelve on a Saturday night

Actually, I wasn't. I saw his tweets this morning. I was tucked up in my bed with a glass of wine and some choccies watching CSI while he was busy tweeting about the boxing!
I only stalk Wello when he's in full banter with Foster as they are an hilarious double act. Foster was very quiet over the weekend though. He might have been practising his goal kicking in the wind because he sure gave a brilliant goalkicking performance today. I just am in awe of that guy's boot.

47035_1386433761.gif We can be bold enough to make a stand and do battle for our views and beliefs. But we must strive to be mature enough not to resort to unnecessary personal attacks upon people with opposing views.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_47035.gif |

| A good result all in all given that some of us thought this could be a banana skin.
As for the Wello, comment, lets not forget these guys don't work 9-5. So the hours they keep are entirely different. He could go to bed at mid-night and get up at 12:00 and have a full 12 hours sleep, with plenty of time before kick off.
I would imagine if the coach had a problem with it then he would talk it over. Most people are at their most productive earlier in the day, so is would not surprise me if the sport scientists out there would recommend shifting your day around so you play at your peak time, rather than have an early morning and using up all your energy before the match.
I seam to recall scully or Joynty saying they would have a sleep most match days a few hours before kick off. And that match day was a rather dull day. No point getting over excited and using up all that nervous energy.
Also if he's watching the boxing, he ain't out at the bars getting drunk, which players used to do back in the day and have a match the following day. Either way we don't know the routine so it's hard to judge from a one off comment.
