| Quote: Longy_7 "Some people in the media and maybe on this board think Saints have nothing to lose tomorrow night. Well I feel differently about that. We waited 8 long years to get the Super League Trophy back to Langtree Park last year in the most extraordinary of circumstances. The players we have tomorrow, we would have killed for to have at the start of the play-off series last year. We have our title to defend, we could go alongside the team of 1999/2000 to achieve back to back Super League Title wins. If we were to defend our title players of today (Walmsley, Roby, Walsh, Wilkin, Percival) could be held in the same esteem as we hold Perelini, Cunningham, Long, Martyn, Sculthorpe and Joynt who won it back all them years ago.
The point of this message is simple, we have a far better chance of winning the title this year with the current playing roster we have compared to when we started the play-offs last year, yeah we have been dusted by Leeds on 3 occasions this year but won well at Headingley only a few weeks ago. I for one truly believe we will win tomorrow and go for our date with destiny with huge confidence.
One word
I believe it's potentially possible. Leeds are a far superior side and with home advantage and the emotional high against Huddersfield will be strong favourites. Although I'd be delighted with a win, I'd also be confused. If this side can win back to win titles I'll be shocked. Last year was a statistical anomaly, by tomorrow I think we'll be having threads about recruitment, ambition and the lack of squad development rather than pre-final rituals, moaning about ticket office staff and which end we're in.
Looking at the squad we've got our best two players injured currently. Walmsley is rumoured to be still injured, will he be at his best? Will Roby? He's looked injured/exhausted for a month or more.

| I've got more faith in us winning there than at Wigan. Of the remaining teams I think Leeds are the least ruck/wrestle-focused, and are thus less well-equipped than the other two to take advantage of our naivety in that area. They may not need to, of course, as when they turn it on they are a class act. But I think we [ican [/ibeat them.

I do think KC has missed a trick by not resting Roby more. Lewis Charnock is a very capable 9 and wouldn't have let the side down. Roby will be fit and firing tomorrow I reckon. A 80% Roby is a better hooker than any other 9 in the competition in my opinion. Walmsley maybe would have played last week if needed must, he would have had a couple of weeks of and like Robes, he will be fit and firing tomorrow. I do believe we have every chance.

Aye. I'm not expecting us to win but I'm not ruling it out.

They've also got the best footwork though, which is something we struggle to defend against. I back our defence against Wigan, but Leeds not so much. I think we can win, but I see us as big underdogs. If the rumours are true and Hardaker is injured/out, that would help our chances a fair bit.

| big chance for you as it it is rumoured and all were limping at the end last week . Watkins , Hardaker and Hall will play with painkilling injections . Biggest worry with that is even if Leeds win then Wigan would get the benefit the following week .

I don't think any team is playing at this time of year without a few guys having painkilling injections in them.
For me much depends on how we (Leeds) attack. It's what has brought us success this year but obviously we hit a brick wall after Wembley. We gained a much needed confidence boost with the win vs Hudds last week but the attack wasn't what it was earlier in the season....however on a run of 3 bad defeats, confidence low and Hudds away being a very tough place to attack then not the ideal game to get that attack flowing again. Back at Headingley with confidence back in the minds could see the attack start to fire again.

Painkilling injections are unfortunately part of the game. There will no doubt be a few on either side having them. No wonder these lads end up with wrecked bodies when they finish.
It's gonna take a lot of character to go to their ground and turn them over. Leeds are a class side but everyone knows you'd be a fool to write us off. I feel like that big lazy clump, Masoe, could win it for us if he bothers to turn up.

He use to be indecisive, but now he's not so sure.

| It should be a good game. But this is perhaps the first year I can remember where all the playoff teams look shonky.

In relative terms, Saddened coming out with this is a bit like when William Wallace did that awe inspiring pre battle speech/team talk in Braveheart.
