I would say that pre-season, St Helens goal would be pretty much the same as Leeds Pies Wire to finish top 4 with top 6 being the minimum.
Outside of this it be considered a failure.

Because Saints have been in a prominent position early season and are still there but for a point, I would expect that the board now would have reviewed this and set the minimum requirement as top 4 at the end of the campaign.

Keeping within the top 4 is well within Saints and Brown should be comfortable with his position.
I think dropping to 5th would be totally unacceptable and Brown would be emptying his locker by 10 am on the Monday morning following.

I've always said it will be a big achivement if we finish top 4. Wigan & Leeds are light years ahead of us and think they will make top 2.

3rd and 4th is anyone's with no real team looking like will clinch those spots. I'd put us in a group with wolves, Catalan, hudds that will be in fight for those 2 spots.

You obviously haven't been paying much attention to my posts, which is fair enough.

You see, when things are going badly it doesn't mean EVERYTHING is wrong, in the same way everything isn't right when we're winning games.

Unfortunately we have a bipolar fan base that massively overreact at each end of the spectrum. The truth lies in the middle.

The fans know what the issues are, as do the captain, coach and chairman who have emphasised the fans view that the squad's attitude sinks at present. I'm not sure how much more you want them to say? They've said their bit, I'd rather they spent time addressing the issue than drafting press releases and giving interviews to placate the bipolars.
