| Any greatest Saints team that doesn't include Tom Van Vollenhoven and Alex Murphy is a joke.

| Thats the trouble with getting a "greatest" team on paper, too young and you miss some great players ...too old and the memory fade's as to who was better than whom.
Pinner/Cos better than Sculthorpe/Karalius
Murphy/Martyn or Goulding/Bishop
Greats all over the park from one season players to one club players, South Africans to Welshmen.
Players who write and ask for trials and then play like they were born to wear the red "v"
My "sig" says it all for me, two of the best players I have seen, but there have been many more, far too many to list.

'" Exactly, the important thing is posters are allowed to have a little fun with their ideas, without being pilloried for not picking people who played before their time.
Mine would be (Watching since '93)
1. Wellens
2. Albert 3. Iro 4. Newlove 5. Sullivan
6. Pryce 7. Martyn
8. Britt 9. Cunningham 10. Graham
11. Joynt 12. Fairleigh
13. Sculthorpe
14. Roby 15. Perelini 16. P Anderson 17. Darren Smith
That team would take some beating. Hopefully in a year or so I'll be reconsidering to fit Young Kyle in somewhere.

No hes was crap, after watching him in the cup away at Hunslet (I think) in one of his first games he was crap, and the standard didnt improve from that day on.

| Not sure, if its not many I still dont think its anything to do with Hanley, its probably more to do with the performances when in the first team.

I watched a fair few reserve games that year, and Adamson was an absolute giant in them, but would never get picked for the firsts after the first couple of weeks when he got 3 sub-appearences. He certainly didn't do anything so bad in those 3 games to warranty a year long exclusion.
If we had plenty of talent in the forwards that year, then fair enough, but Paul Davidson played virtually every match and was absolutely dire.
Adamson was signed by the board before Hanley arrived and I have no doubt that the reason he didn't get a fair crack of the whip was to do with Hanley exercising his authority rather than playing ability.

Thats Sonny's page!!
According to wiki he only played once; but thats not right either.
What surprises me was his 97 games and 22 tries for Penrith and his one SOO!
