| Quote: McClennan "Another good Saints-Wakefield match tonight and it should really have been tonight's SKY match.
Wakefield
Struggled to stop our forwards making yards but dug in very well. As with pretty much all their visits over the past six or seven seasons they played some good football. All their tries were good and although I thought we dominated the game they took their chances and put in a great defensive spell in the middle of the second half. I'd like to see the stats for Tronc because he was a big man and seemed to make some good yards.
Saints
Great games from Jammer and Roby (some great tackles) in a game I thought we controlled very well. Given the conditions our ball retention was first rate and each of the forwards made some good yards. When we went two scores down we didn't panic and played our game with The Leon King helping us to get back into things in the first half. My MoM was Eastmond whose kicking game outshone Brough's and that's no mean feat.
Overall
Pleasing performance with the ball although plenty of room for improvement in defence (we looked out-paced a couple of times) and our handling is looking a lot better than it has the past two years. Gidley is a loss, however we are making yards which will stand us in good stead against any team. A bit more sharpness and we'll be up there in the top three.'"
mom 1st pryce 2nd hargreaves 3rd faasavalu in what was a really good game

| If Wakelfield had respected possesion more they would of had the points. We were average until midway through the second half when we pressured their line and Kyle started to kick to the in goal and get a few repeat sets, something we havent done in a good long while.
I'd also like to say we should of gone for one point 3 mins from end 3rd tackle infront of posts 10m out and instead decide to run it, talk about putting pressure on yourself at the end of a game.
Longy would of slotted one over

| I felt that our marker play could be improved, and that Clough struggled starting, as he seemed to be playing as an edge 2nd rower rather than a central one as he usually does. Eastmond's kicking game was brilliant, and our attack seemed slightly flatter tonight which is a good sign. Moore played well despite him ending up playing at 2nd row, and Roby tackled anything that moved. Our sliding defence, particularly on the right side, was very impressive too. MoM for me tonight was Eastmond though, his kicking forced repeat sets quite often and ensured we won the territory battle. Felt he should have got a drop goal in the last few minutes, but he's inexperienced, so he isn't going to choose the right option every single time.

|
| Well done on the win it was a tough game it seems.
Our second rate imports (lol) arn't that bad
To lose to saints that tight is dissappointing but i'd rather it be saints who may not be the top team in sl but always right up there.

About sums it up. We hardly seemed to complete a set in the first twenty minutes and to knock on three times at the play the ball is careless. Could have won but didn't.

With the exception of that beautiful backwards kick by Eastmond.
Other than our kicking game, I thought most of it was around average (with one or two individual great plays - like Eastmond's try) and some of it was worse than average. An improvement on the Hull game though. And I'm glad we won.
I would have preferred it if Brough had been able to stay on the pitch for the whole match though as I think his absence helped us.

| What was some people watching tonight ? We played brilliant in awfull conditions.
Wakefield are a very good team but we really did dominate them. There first try was a classic the other 2 where from kicks. Our defence was top notch imo.
People seem to forget we played over 55 minutes with only 2 subs (Gidley and Ashurst could not return). That meant Roby playing out in the centres and Moore in the backrow. Brilliant!
Leon Pryce was the MOM by a country mile imo followed by Eastmond and Roby.
Taking nothing from Wakefield i'd love to see there first 2 try's on TV. First one was a blatant forward pass then i aint sure he stayed infield. THe second try came from Daryl Millard droping the ball when playing it on the 4th tackle. Absolutely disgusted with the lines man who did not help Alibert out tonight.

31007_1580947500.jpg EVENTUALLY, WE'LL WIN SOMETHING, ,MAYBE, IF I'M STILL ALIVE THEN:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_31007.jpg |

| The best side won. You dominated the game, and we kept on coughing up possession. I think the Eastmond try had some obstruction in it, and the Meli try would maybe not be given on a video ref viewing, as I thought he may have ended up in touch. Morrison's nearly try would have been interesting, but I agree that Morton's try was from a forward pass.
I can't complain about the result. You had all the possession, and whenever we got it, we knocked on. I'm not sure we had a set of six in the first fifteen minutes of the second half, and we were already twelve-nil up before we had our first play the ball in your twenty metre zone.
What did occur to me, from looking at Saints, was that the body language wasn't good in the first half, and your pack looks a bit bulky and slow compared to the quicker and leaner look of Wigan. Also, with the amount of possession you had in good positions, you should have scored more.
Wakey did well defensively, and am not unhappy. For you, it's two points well-deserved.
I'll miss Knowsley Road. A proper rugby league ground.

I'm a she.
I think Brough going off injured helped us. He was very effective for Wakey.
I thought we looked knackered for large parts of that match. I would like to have seen more support play and we had so much pressure on Wakey's line but could not make it pay, which has been a longstanding problem. That's not to take anything away from Wakey's defence which, on the whole, was very, very good, but for the most part we still seemed unsure about what to do with the ball when near the tryline. On Meli's try: which happened first, the touchdown or the corner flag being hit? There was some disbelief among the fans I stand with when the try was awarded but I was in the wrong position to see what happened.
I think we played better than against Hull but given the talent on the park, I think we have a way to go yet before I could say we were playing well as a team. Some individuals played very well though.
