| Has anyone been watching it and if so are there any players that have caught your eye that could play league? The number 1 for USA looks like a good fast winger.

| Heard good things about some Kiwi called Sonny Bill Williams but he got injured.
Is that America lad you're on about Carlin Isles? I've seen videos of him and he's got pace to burn as he used to be a sprinter. From his wikipedia page; "Before taking up rugby in 2012, Isles ranked as the 36th fastest sprinter in the United States with a 100 metres outdoor personal best of 10.24 seconds".

We could not afford any of them. The RFU 7s is an ongoing circus that rolls around the world in the same way that the RedBull soapbox competition does. The players are specialists and few would get a look in even at 15 a side.

Thats not true, a lot of the players have teams they play for when not touring with 7s, though most are 7s specialists, Dan Norton for example plays in the 4th their of english rugby.
7s seems more suited to league than union tbh, I think even the top players are on around 100k so RL teams could get them if they really wanted

In fact some of the best in the Fiji team only get paid around £10,000 so if it is money they want, RL could easily sway them

| Nate Ebner from the US team is also a member of the New England Patriots, so he's out of the question financially for any league club.
South Sea islanders are the ones to target realistically, could get a decent winger most likely.

| Just watched Argentina v GB and you wouldn't want them anywhere near. Handling was poor and passing even worse.

| The exposure it gives RU never heard so many people talking about sevens, some people still call union kick and clap but sadly they are leaving us way behind as a sport and will go even further, we seem to have no one with vision leading our game, some are just happy to keep saying we are the Greatest Game or Sport.

It's down to money.
They have more we have less. They invested in the international competition, we focused on growing the club sport.
There is little point comparing, we can only grow our game from it's current base. We can't replace RU.

There are no pies left in this van overnight!: |
|
| I was listening to a womens ru coach last week on Radio merseyside who had come up from down south to promote the game up north. She was asked to explain the difference between League and Union and had the temerity to describe League as stoppy starty and Union had more continuity. Couldn't believe it and as far as I know no one from League has challenged it.

| Watch the final.
Not one of the GB team could handle a ball.
The Fiji team where a different class, but only playing 10 minutes each way, doubt many would have the stamina for league.

I only watched the final and the GB team were truly appalling.
The BBC commentators were making the Fijians into Superhuman Heroes.

| I did suggest on a RU website that they had potentially discovered a really exciting version of rugby, all they needed to do was lose a couple of players from the 15 and speed up the scrums. Needless to say it didn't go down too well.
