| A Wigan pack so frightened of Saints. All they want to do is go wide. We've got Walmsley knocking them all back, Masoe battering Mickey Mac and even Savelio throwing their forwards away. They quite simply can't take us on up front as they don't stand a chance.
Missing all the lads we've got and we just walk over them. They don't stand a hope against us when we get our main blokes back. Not a hope.

| Would have been a much stronger contest had 3 tries not been given away.
Walmsley is an outstanding prop - in my opinion the best in the league and absolutely should be in the England squad - but Masoe? Don't talk daft. I swear to god everytime I see him play I don't see the fuss. He get's knocked back as much as he knocks others. On one hand you've got the best prop in SL and on the other, the most overrated prop in SL.

| Aye, was a weird one that. Still, ignoring that shoulder barge that put him into touch whilst he was chasing it are we?

I'm not a huge fan of Masoe in general because he doesn't get through enough work IMO, but he was really good tonight. He got reasonably quick play the balls and drew a lot of defenders. Two examples come to mind. One carry he took in on Wigan line, they had to commit numbers to the tackle to stop him. When he played the ball (inbetween the posts), Wigan had 4 players between the posts, then one either side of the posts. If one carry from him can do that, it gives our backs more space, and we scored on the next play.
The other example he took a carry coming out of our own half. Won the floor, got a quick PTB before the markers were set, Roby scooted and got another quick PTB and Burns kicked a 40/20 as a result. There are very few players in Super League who can require a team to commit so many defenders to a tackle (or get quick play the balls if they don't).

Hence the wink
Masoes Impact needs to be taken for what it is, it's all about presence with him, and he's generally very very good at throwing opposition off their game both in attack and defence (certainly in big games)

Yeah, that was a good play the ball. I think had you not worked the overlap on that attempt to score, we were rattled anyway and you'd have been in somewhere in that set.
For me he needs to do more minutes. I understand his thing is his weight and with that probably comes a lack of fitness, but remember that prop for St George who has a massive gut on him but put in massive minutes?

| Who got Sky MoM? I missed it after the game. I'd have given it to Walmsley, he was fantastic tonight.

Aye, that's the one. He really impressed me for the weight of him and the amount of good, hard minutes he played. When he came on I thought he'd do 5 minutes but he shut me up.

Yeah I agree, but a player who can get a quick play the ball like that after drawing so many defenders in is really useful and I think gives us something different from the rest of our forwards. My issue with Masoe is he doesn't get in that position often enough (even for the time he's on the field). For example, in 2013, 20% of South Sydney's tries came off the back of George Burgess play the balls -
McDonell. I'd have given it to Walmsley or Roby, but obviously Stevo is incapable of awarding a MoM to someone who hasn't scored a try.

| Anybody not acknowledging Masoe's impact tonight are mad. He went straight for McIlorum and bloody hammered him, both with and without the ball. They never even dared to go near the middle of the field afterwards.

I don't know how they work it at Langree Park but at Wigan they have their own MoM which tends to be different to the sky one. I'd have gone with Roby. Far and away the best hooker in the league and so consistent aswell.

He OWED McIlorum that one from the last derby when bull-neck hit him whilst prone.
There's no escape from Bigfoot's wrath.
