| Although the attitude of the players was better I didn't feel at ease until we scored 34 points. At one point Silverwood looked as though he was trying to put Huddersfield back in the game.
What is your opinion of the way the "Senior" players played last night.

| Depends what you class as "senior" players.
Mose was immense. Walsh did very well behind a weakened pack. Wello looked comfortable at the back. Lance had a good game
Wilkin did not inspire me, poor kicking and missed a fair few tackles again, forcing passes ,its like he's trying too hard.
Lms poor again, shown up by the younger forwards
Roby was roby, he was everywhere

Thought Lance was excellent last night snuffed Robinson out of the game put in a good number of tackles and his support play was superb.
Couple of instances with Wello and his reading of the game, thought "Mr Radar" is back marshalled his troops including his rollocking of the team when the giants scored the last 2 trys.
LMS was the less industrious of the pack, thought Flanagan was excellent in defence but less so in attack.
Roby, Masoe and Walsh were my top 3 performers.

I'd agree with that. It was still a bit lacklustre, and if we hadn't been up against a fairly poor Huddersfield, we wouldn't have had such an easy time of it, as only Masoe was making decent metres in the forwards. But Roby played his best game since 2012, and Walsh was all class.
A word for Dawson too - he tried hard, and made probably the best contribution in the threequarter line.

I thought Wilkin had a decent game. He needed to as well with lomax missing.
It's as if he was a little too enthusiastic in defence that led to the missed tackles.

| I thought it was a very uninspiring performance and the only good thing about the night was that Huddersfield were worse. They were absolutely hopeless through the middle and although we scored some decent tries the opposition must be disappointed with the way some of them came about. Their attitude was shocking throughout too, and yet they still managed to score four tries which is poor.
I'm not getting too carried away with Masoe's performance, it's simply what I would expect from a good prop on a more regular basis. He did impress though as did Greenwood who looks comfortable in the 17 already and has the frame to put some real size on, he could potentially replace Soliola beyond this year at the rate he's going.
Aside from that not much to get carried away about. Roby was very good as ever but as mentioned it was more down to some shocking defensive efforts from Huddersfield in the middle channel. I expected much better from them and although they got some shocking calls from the ref there was no need for some of the attitude displayed by some of their senior players.

| We looked more enthusiastic and were prepared to bend our back a bit.
However I felt that the result was more a reflection of Huddersfield being awful than Saints being sensational.
I was expecting a lot more from them. Their forwards were anonymous, and Danny Brough was not at the races all night.
On that showing Huddersfield looked at best a mid table team.

I agree also that he had a good game
According to the stats Wilkin missed 1 tackle. Less than Flanagan( whilst they made the exact same total). Yet people are saying Flanagan had a good game defensively. Plus Wilkin made twice as many yards as him.
I'm not having a go at Flash in any way, just illustrating the point that Wilkin can't seem to do anything right in some peoples eyes.

Brough is a rocks or diamond player for me. Saints played the conditions very well and were worthy winners. I thought Dawson did well again, he seems to get some unfounded criticism from some of the Saints fams IMO.

I think you're missing the point of last night. We can only play what's in front of us. While we made some stupid errors again which led directly to at least two of their tries (we really do need to address this passive attitude - catch the ball yourself, don't wait for someone else, for example), we started very well and didn't stop for about 65 minutes. We dropped off in the last 10 minutes or so, something that needs addressing. But our degree of commitment to the cause was massively different from last week, which fundamentally was what last night was about. Winning was a bonus (although to be fair I think the team would not have been forgiven for losing had we lost!).

| Line speed and commitment in defence was vastly improved. Game fell apart a bit when the rains came.
We massively miss Amor, Walmsley, Laffranchi and manu. Only Mose looked capable of making any ground at all.

I'm not on here too much any more so haven't seen any real criticism but I agree that he did well. Going forward he could develop into a real threat, he looks lively on his feet and can break tackles. He may suffer from being shunted between centre and wing like Gelling has, he's looking far better for a regular run of games in one position.

| Ultimately, if someone had offered me a 19 point point victory last night at 759pm, i'd have ripped their hand off. Attitude and commitmnet were a million times better than last week. With 10 players out, I wouldn't have expected too much more. Major positives in the performances of Masoe, Wheeler and Flanagan who did a hell of a lot better than I expected. Good to see the senior players in Wello, Wilkin, Robes, Lance and Walsh stand up as well.

| I was just happy to see us showing some desire. I thought we were very good in the first half. The 2nd half just saw a drop off in quality in general and was pretty hard to watch in parts, with so many errors knocking about. I'll put that down to the conditions though. I'm just hoping that we're turning the corner, rather than putting it in for one week because of everything that has been said.
At least a win will make my facebook timeline easier to read. The amount of utter idiots that post on that Saints RLFC group is unreal!

I still see Wilkin laughing when he knocked on at the kick off.
Wilkin should also stay in the second row. Since he keeps stepping into the halves in the second half then I assume this is a coaching 'tactic' but all it's doing is undermining our attack. And there are times when he tries organising everyone but that's Walsh's job and tbh he's better at it.
Brown or whoever should play players in their positions, especially while we are depending on so many inexperienced players. It frustrated me last night because I could see how we just kept going left once Wilkin stepped in.
