| i really don’t know if i agree with all that’s being said about Mr Personality himself, some of its harsh and the ozzies are just crying sour grapes.
Pros:
2 winner’s medals
1 runner up medal
(Not counting the England medal....i could have won one!)
Kicking game
Ability to swap positions
Organization skills
Cons:
Next his best season
Didn’t do much in the middle of the season
Not short listed for man of steel
Not in dream team
Not in world 13
Would i have him at saints...Yes
But not ahead of Roby, nor ahead of a number of players in world rugby league
Is this just a bit of a case of trying to keep us happy by picking an English player every now and again??
a golden boot winner.....not for me!

Pros
He shouldn't have won it IMO but I'm glad he did and not those moaning Austrailians.
He's not the greatest player In the world, he's not even the greatest player in super but you'd have to look pretty hard to find a better captain in world rugby than kev sinfield.

| If you take KS out of the Leeds team would they have won all those SL trophies. I know golden boot is supposed to be about the season just gone, but when you look at Leeds Kevin is so key to how they play, how they are organised, how they believe, you put him in any SL side and he is going to improve the outcome.
Pick any current Saints player at loose forward and I would trade them for Kevin.

| I voted yes because he had a fantastic season in 2012 (and I just thank all that is holy that it wasn't us suffering at his hands - or boot - at Old Trafford last year!). As captain he steered Leeds to WCC victory, to a Challenge Cup final, to yet another (yawn) Superleague title and England to three straight wins. Had he played for us we would have been oozing praise for him all season. I can't stand Leeds, not least because they've done us too many times (and I'm thanking all that is holy again that I was deprived of the chance to go through that again last October), but I can't deny Sinfield is what makes that team tick and he had an excellent season last year.
Besides, after rlthis patronising, arrogant articlerl in the Sydney Telegraph, I am 100% behind him winning the Golden Boot, if only to stick it to the whining Austrailians! (I voted yes on the Telegraph site as well - Tony Hannan did a great job on Twitter of inspiring all the Poms to turn round what was a losing score this morning!)

| A NO from me, golden boot should go to a world class player which Sinfield is not, the winner should be one that has been recognised in the dream team or a Man of Steel.
Sinfield to Leeds is what Joynt was to Saints a good leader with a cool head nothing else, I can't think anything inspirational that Sinfield has done consisistently throughout the 2012 season.
I would have put Tomkins over Sinfield as a Golden Boot nominee, we just don,t really have a british player worthy at the moment. I bet Paul Sculthorpe is having a wry smile over the result.
Cam Smith would have been my choice.

| Whist I find it highly amusing at the Moaning coming from Australia,in the cold light of day Sinfield is NOT a worthy winner of the Golden Boot,He only woke up in August when he steered Leeds to another Grand Final win.Any player could have guided England to the internetional series win.If he had anything resembling a half decent season he would at least been nominated for man of steel.Good captain and goalkicker, yes.Better player than Cooper Cronk or Cam Smith,I really dont think so.

| Surely the man of steel should have been SL's best candidate for the golden boot.
Having said that Tomkins lacks any kind of quality in fielding a high ball, indeed his defence leaves a lot to be desired, this will be sorely exposed in the World Cup matches.
It's blatantly obvious that Super League lacks any stand out players that can match their Aussie counterparts.
(Hurts me to say it)

| The basic fact is that Kevin Sinfield is the biggest single factor (on the pitch) in Leeds winning the Superleague for 5 of the last 6 seasons.
Whilst his skills may not be as visibly tangible as other players, denying him any acolades that come his way is wrong imo.

| I voted no. Super League is worlds away from the NRL in terms of quality and I don't think Sinfield wouldn't perform in Australia. The few SL players who have succeeded in the NRL (Burgess, Ellis, Graham) are big forwards who have made an impact over there, but I don't think Sinfield would get a look in in a big NRL pack. The likes of Gallen and Mateo (despite having no kicking game) are a class above any SL loose forward, including Sinfield. He may have stood out in a pretty average Leeds side, but as wirefox said, he wasn't even voted Man of Steel, so I can't understand he can even be considered or the Golden Boot
The Golden Boot should have gone to Ben Barba in my opinion.

45465_1384791340.jpg And last but not least, to all those people who wrote this team off.
To all those people who critisized this team...tonight's for you.

But all these awards are subjective. If it is based purely on people's opinions then there will always be controversial decisions. For example in my opinion James Roby should have won the MOS by a mile. His contribution to the Saints team is much more complete than (in Tomkins case) scoring fancy/flashy tries for Wigan.

| Great player, great kicker, great leader - played a massive part in everything Leeds have achieved in the last decade. I dearly wish Saints had him and would swap him for any of our players except Roby - I'd probably swap him for any 2 even.
But best player in the world? Utter, utter nonsense. I'm never a fan of awards at the best of times but this just makes a mockery...

| To be honest I do believe Kevin Sinfield was a worthy winner. His tactical ability is superb and without him last year Leeds wouldnt have come near winning any of the two trophies they did or reach the Challenge Cup Final. Sinfield is a master of the tactical game and fully deserved his award.
