I'm gonna have to be as cynical as everyone else - with the amount of offers on the table (apparantly all 14 SL clubs expressed an interest in signing him) I'd have thought there would be numerous clubs ahead of Hull FC if the defining factor was anything other than financial benefit. If, for example, Leeds or Castleford offered more money, would he have still picked Hull for rugby reasons?

I'd have put my house on us not signing him. I never once thought we'd sign him and I doubt very much we even spoke to him.
