Sad to hear of the passing of a Saints legend today. I wasn't around to see Len play, but I have read plenty about him and heard a lot of stories about his pursuits in the red vee. RIP.

| What sad news! he was my Hero as a kid, I used to as a school kid go to a photographer Geoff Willliams in George Street and he would sell me photo's of Len cheaper when they had been in the window and had drawing pin holes in. I remember going to the barbers in Fingerpost with the money from Mum and a photo of Len and asking him to copy it Harold Ramsey said you Mum will kill me, she called in and told him next time it is okay.
Young goal kickers like Jamie are good but Len Killeen had it to a perfection never forget the conversion at Wembley from his own half of the pitch and it sailed over, a strong winger and superb try scorer, I never thought as I grew older that he got the respect he so deserved.
I send my Deepest Sympathy to his Family and Friends.
Len may You Rest in Peace and Thanks for all the Joy you gave me!
John

The ball was like a sack of spuds in those days, too.

You are quite right Dux! I remember getting my first leather white ball & talking it into the park to kick goals, never like Len!

| I am a Warrington fan but i remember with awe the goal kicking feats of Len Killeen (& your other goal kicking machine, Kel Coslett) from when i was a kid. "That" goal at Wembley was amazing ,he is a legend to me. RIP.

| Always remember him creating spaces by running sidewards or backwards, the opposition would go running after him then Len would see a gap and off he went.

| I was too young for '66 but I remember watching it on 100 Great Sporting Moments once with my dad. I couldn't believe he was banging them over from in our own half. All the best Len wherever you are. You've made thousands of Saints fans happy over the years and we're proud that you were able to do it here.
Saint even after we die!

| Great goal kicker.
I was there at Wembley in '66 as a fifteen year old.
Len starred in that game - fond memories.
RIP
