Saints u18s beat Widnes u18s 16-14.

It was a tough hard game and really good win.

Saints had few not playing( might be with u20s ) but Case in the backrow looked very good and also Percival looks very very impressive.

Swift didn't play today.

It's always hard to say how these guys will progress, in the years to come, one thing sport is not is forgiving. Of the players in the under 18's how many progress to the next stage?

Do SL clubs, have the players at this level, who will become devastating props in the likes of Fasavalu, or will we always have to import these types of players.

IMO I'd say Percival looks most likely from the u18s to Kane it but is to small at moment.

Swift is also a prospect but IMO I don't think the forwards are likely to come thru.

SP,
It's difficult to say at 16's / 18's level because of the way they develop physically. Shaun Ainscough looked superb at U18's but never went any better. Charnley however came through a little more slowly and now looks as though he could make a top class winger/ centre.

There's a prop forward at Wigan, Tom Spencer, who this season has really pushed through in the U20's who is another late developer, yet Ben Davies hasn't progressed as well as I thought.

forester was bigged up a potentail for saints this year but injury have kept both him and frodsham out the side. the difficulty is how long do these players have to prove themselves before another young whippersnapper comes along as the next potential. one two years. if you are injured during that time it is a very unforgiving game.

The current crop of youngsters in the U18 are much better than the current players in the reserves. The lads did well yesterday esp considering they were missing 3/4 of their starting pack due to injury/suspensions and a late call up into the reserves. I total disagree with what st pete has said and IMO there will be at least 4 of the forward pack that will make it into the pro ranks, maybe not all at saints but definitely in superleague

From the 18's (older) Danny Jones was down to play yday but got called up to the reserves due to an injury, jordan case who you already mentioned earlier. From the next set of 18's Connor Dwyer and Alex Clair who are both out injured, both second rowers, 2 Props Brad Ashurst and Adam Hesketh, I havent seen enough of the youngest yet to make an educated decision

The use of the word "USE" instead of 'you' should give you an idea of this posters background.
