| We only have Huddersfield at home left to play out of the 'big 3' whereas the other 3 have more potentially tricky encounters. Catalan and Hull aside I personally think we should look at being unbeaten until the end of the season. Dependent on other results I still think we could push for 3rd or maybe 2nd (probably not).
I would like to see how we do against Huddersfield if we don't endure any more injuries....maybe a grand finals still on? Who knows.... Either way 3rd or 4th has an away tie (I think) and a second chance. not that away trips make a difference to us
I think we stand more chance against Hudds or Wire than we do against Wigan, so maybe.....just maybe this couls still be our season.
Optimistic I know...but it sounds good on paper.

| The top 3 is all tied up.
We are merely battling for fourth place.
Looking at the table there is a good chance we could end up finishing 6th. I personally think Catalans are a stronger outfit than Saints having done the double of Wigan, and also defeated Huddersfield and Warrington.
Castleford are the other team i think are good enough to challenge Saints for a top 6 spot.
Think semi final is the best we can hope for in the challenge cup as well. A final against the likes of Wire, Wigan or Huddersfield could be very embarrassing.

| If the wigoons beat the giants today, then we have a chance of making third on the basis we can beat the catalans and giants at home.
Royce needs to work on our composure, consistency and aggression a bit more, we can,t rely on the long overdue dodgy calls in our favour from the match officials.
With all the disruptions we have had our season should have been over, but we still fighting in the challenge cup and with the prospect of a possible good run in the play offs.
Personally I reckon we will finish 4th, also in our remaining run we need to stop the opposition getting these 10+ points starts and front up in the first quarter of the game.

| Do all the top 4 get a 'second chance' if they lose their opening play off match?

| Would prefer to play away to Wigan or Warrington in the playoffs, we always seem to raise our game. As for playing at Huddersfield we are very hit and miss on performances there.

4) 6th v 7th (loser eliminated)
Week two...

| I reckon we'll get third, Hudds aren't the same without Brough.
When it comes to the play offs third or fourth doesn't make much difference
As they mentioned on tv last night the cup can make a difference, the further you go in it the more likely you are to drop league points, it helped us get past Wire last year.
We have some tricky away fixtures yet but we have the chance to build some form and confidence for the play offs.

I think we can agree that would require you to beat Hudds again. You sound very confident. I think you can do it but I don't think I would be as confident if I was a sts fan.

| We have a real chance of making 3rd spot. Taking all things inconsideration we have a great run in now and Pryce, Clough, Shenton all to return to the side. Im very hopeful.

| The question is will Huddersfield beat Wire. Well on last nights performance I can't see that. But if we were all judged on our performances against Wigan that would not be a very accurate measure.
I think 3rd is more than possible. But there are alot of games to go. We need a win, just to stop the losing streak against Hull.
When we lost to Huddersfield this year, we were at our weakest point in the season and whilst the players and coach will never use that as an excuse, I'm a fan so hell yeh, I'm going to say it had an impact.
I reckon we can take the huddersfield at home.
Hull and Catalan will be tough too, but they are not Wigan or Warrington so we should not read our last 2 games as a sign that we are going on a long running losing streak.
Top 2 look pretty sealed up at the moment, so I'm not aiming that high, but the only difference between top 1 and 2 / and 3 and 4 is a home tie.
Bradford showed us that you can have an on off season, but if you can string 3 or 4 games together, then you can win the GF. Lets not forget in this game you don't have to be the best team all season to win the GF.
Our players are returning and we just need consistently hard performances to get battle hardened for the end of the season. The means no easing off in defence for 'easier matches' Wigan and Wire don't and we need to learn that to be at their level.

| Catalan are very good outsiders for that 3rd or 4th spot. Their display at Wigan was as good as anything I have seen from a visiting team for many years. Scott Dureau was absolutely brilliant in that game and if they can get their full pack available along with Thomas Bosc they could be a match for anyone.

Yeh but the travel is always tricky for them and they may have been great against Wigan but against Huddersfield they were not all that.
So a bit like Saints on their day they can be great but maybe lacking consistency this season.

Give over. If Saints are fully fit they are in the hunt. Unquestionably.
I'd like to see how any of the above fare with similar problems to the ones we have faced this season (and largely overcome).
