| I am hoping some kind folk on here can give me some advice for Friday.
I am going to the game with a mate and 3 Aussies and rather than going back to Warrington after the game, they want to go to Liverpool for a night out.
Can anyone help me with suggestions on getting there from your neck of the woods?
Are taxi's easy to come by near the ground? (I have never noticed any in the past)
If not, would you need to book one and if so who would you recommend for 5 of us?
Do taxis pick up from near the ground after the game come to think of it?
Are there buses etc or is that too much hassle? I assume they are from Prescot Rd?
Trains look too much of a pain in the .
Any advice would be appreciated!
Cheers.

Will bear it in mind! A good walk to town, a wait for a train and then a 40 min train journey.
I would be lucky to get to Liverpool before 11.30 - wouldn't i??

| I image a taxi from Knowsley Road into the centre of Liverpool would be about £30-£35. There's plenty of local taxi companies you can call to arrange a cab after the match (unless we go into over-time). I don't know who the companies are, but you can call 01744 600700 or 01744 451451 (or alternatively do a Google search). It's probably a 30 minute walk to the train station from the ground, and depending on what time the trains arrive, added to the 30 minute journey it might be getting on a bit. But Liverpool is open quite late. Check out Funkybox on Fleet Street, which is near to Concert Square. It's sh[ii[/it, but it's open till 8am! BOOM!

| If you're not too proud walk to top of Dunriding Lane -less than 10 minutes- and catch the 320 bus. Should be in Liverpool before 10. Dependent on bus times you could have a flyer in the Bird before catching the bus.

| Forget all that mate. Just checked on the Arriva site and it seems the 320 doesn't go to Liverpool any more. It's now the number 10 or 110. Neither of these seem to stop on Prescot Rd. Things have gone backwards by the look of things. 320 used to go all the way from Wigan through to Liverpool with loads of stops. It's easier getting round thousands of miles in Oz than it is 12 miles in the UK.

| Cheers for the advice!
I knew this wouldn't be easy!
As there are 5 of us, a normal cab is no use either, it is a black cab or a minibus.
Any more advice on local cabs / minibuses would be great!

The 10 and the 10A stop on Prescott Road, but i don't know what times. Through the day they are every 10 minutes or so.

You need to look closer both the 10 and 10A stop on Prescot Road, the 10 is the quicket into Liverpool because it doesn't go through Rainhill.
It would take 40 minutes to get to Liverpool on a 10 from the top of Dunriding Lane. So nothing like you suggest really.

| For black cabs I think it's 01744737373 or ring one of the other companies and just say you'd need a minibus. It really isn't as difficult as it's being made out to be.

| Just going on how I got away from Knowsley Road the other Friday.
Get the bus outside the ground that goes to St Helens Junction station (takes 15/20mins due to traffic).
Then jump on the train to Liverpool (32 mins).

Bus to liverpool at the top of the road would have been quicker than all that.

| You could easily ring a black cab from one of the pubs around KR and get them to drop you off in the town centre id ask them to make their way to Kiln Lane and avoid Alder Hey Road at all costs. I can't imagine it being more than £6/£7 and then jump on the train straight to LLS.
Trains come about every half hour so you shouldnt have that long to wait. P.S try KrazyHouse in Liverpool too, that or Cava Bar (a tequila house) both just off Concert Sq.

| There is a bus (number 10) at 22.10 which will get you into Liverpool at just gone 11.
The only down side is the fare is £2.60 each, so the cheapest option will be a black cab (if you can pre-book one) which will probably cost less than that for five of you.

A taxi to Liverpool is more than £13. Nearer to £30.
