that's gold! Pure comedy gold!
The letter might as well be titled "please ref the game to suit our teams game plan! Because we don't have a plan B"
I thought some of the rugby I've seen this year is as good as any in previous seasons!

What will it achieve though?'" it achieves proving that some of you are that gutted and desprate that you are willing to write to the governing body to change the rules to help your team win! apossed to writing to the players and coaching staff and asking them to learn how to unlock set, tight, organised, well structured defences!
(which would be equally desprate!)
saints are a quality team but have relied on the same game plan for too long

| not just saints matches though is it.. how many other matches have been exciting.. i used to watch every game fri/sat on sky, now i don't bother, but watch the NL matches, as they tend to be more exciting..
anyone who thinks saints will fayre any better when the game is quicker is dillusional with our lack of pace, if anything we will probably we worse..
i just want to watch a bit of rugby that is entertaining, whoever is playing
what i suggest is you watch any game from 1997 - 2003 (a time where we won only 2 super leagues) and watch how much better the game is as a spectactle.. it's so much quicker

A word of sanity. The thing that is shocking about your team nowadays, is that kicking you to within your twenty metres is great tactics, because you simply don't seem to have the ability to go 80 yards to score any more.

Saints lack pace out wide, but around the ruck you're usually very quick which might be why the slower PTB has affected you more than some other teams. Saints should still have adapted quicker though.
The problem is that in SL we have usually had very quick PTB's that means teams can often make easy ground simply by diving to the ground, a quick play the ball and a scoot from dummy half. That in itself gets boring after a while too and doesn't encourage the halves to be as creative as they would have to be against a set defence.
Personally I say keep the PTB as it is now for about 5 years and see if it brings any benefits.

Super league was more borning for me turning up knowing we were gonna muller a team! Now I never know who's gonna win! which is awesome!
where as I get the feeling you just enjoy watching saints muller teams rather than seeing a contest where the out come isnt a for gone conclusion.

That's 300 less a game this year on last year, and this year there were 2 semi finals compared with last year...
average attendances down 1000 every match this season
still, you hold on to the belief that superleague fans are not voting with their feet

thanks for such a thought out response, rather than rantings from some of your other fans.. i get just as bored watching saints putting 50 on a team as anyone, this season has been the closest ever, we were only 8 points from being champions ourselves, not a million miles away.. but this season i can honestly say i can not remember any memorable games

Plus those empty gf seats where all in the saints end! maybe more to do with something more than a slow ptb?perhaps the same reason for the desprate letter?

Or perhaps they are merely tightening their belts. Given the economic climate and the rapidly rising unemployment figures minus 300 seems like a hell of an achievement.
But you hold on to your belief that the economy does not affect attendance figures.

a 1000 people a match, not so much..
if i was desperate it would be a petition to have the match replayed because of a dodgy offside decision, but it's not.. my point is the manner of those tries scored..
in the grand final 3 tries were from kicks, the other a try from acting half back from 2 yards out, and these are supposed to be the most entertaining teams in super league?? the wales and england tries came from similary boring play, built on pressure
