How can the salary cap make us beat Australia? They beat us because they have the pick of a lot of quality athletes. In this country the people who play rugby league are usually sparrow legged geeks whilst all the athletes play football for the nags head.

You are right, it is working......it has evened up the teams.....BUT you watch a game from pre super league and tell the quality of players has improved, tell me the games are better to watch. The semi was great today but how many poor games do we have with no skill and 'playing the percentages'.

It has worked but has also made another thing worse.

I think the attractive nature of the earlier games was also due in large part to the semi pro defences, which were more vulnerable to moving the ball.

The tries Huddersfield scored today were leagues ahead of the tries Wigoon scored against Brisbane in Australia.

The standard of play pre SL in uk was laughable. It was only when John Monie came to Wigan that you could see a side with structure in offence and defence reminiscent of todays teams. Even then you got the impression Wigan were going through the motions for most matches and winning comfortably.
