What was the penalty count, I,m sure Shirley was ref for a couple of instances telling Bentham to award a penalty.

Brown seems to have hit a nerve in the Wane armoury.

This is where the passion "like wane" that saints fans call for from brown can become a negative, as it makes you vulnerable to manipulation and winding up and losing the plot!

I think Brown should have also mentioned the goons obstruction tactics which the ref never policed.

Those remarks by Brown may be heard as criticism of the referee.
If the MC reports on it that way to the RFL it could cost Brown a lot of money.

Well I'm not sure how:

Can be taken any other way than criticism of the ref. I can't comment as of yet not having seen the game, but from what I gather most saints fans would tend to agree with the summation (not that that matters on him being fined) - what it does do (and this thread proves) is win him a lot more support from the fans, which he's been lacking at times. If the fine keeps the fans off his back, and keeps him in a job it's money well spent.

Further to that, we all know wane likes to use mind games and the media, this is Browns first time taking him on in that arena, and reduced wane to a stuttering "ape" - which is precisely what saints fans want - and will aid in any future psychology battles (in the playoffs say)

He was a homer for the Wigan side and ended up reffing just the away side, giving benefit of the doubt to the goons. For the double movement no try I thought they where finding a way to allow it by assuming the saints player lost tackle contact for a couple of nanoseconds.
