Lets now put yesterday behind us and look to the future. We have great youngsters this year who have put there hand up and played well all year when we have had a injury crisis. To make the Grand Final was a major achievement considering Eastmond has been in and out of the side for most of the season and our marquee signing Sia Soliola has missed 95% of it. To be honest I have been critical of Potter but to be honest I am going to eat humble pie because he has brought through some terrific players like Foster, Lomax, Dixon, Magennis and Ashurst to name a few that will be household names in years to come with abit of luck. Personally I would like to thank Keiron Cunningham on 17 years of great and loyal service to the club, Matt Gidley, Bryn Hargreaves, Maurie Fa'asavalu, Nick Fozzard and Matty Smith for there efforts in there time at the club and the best of luck in the future at there new clubs or in Matt Gidleys and Keiron Cunninghams case there next chapter in there lives.

Royce Simmons will hopefully bring new ideas to the club and a change of coach could refresh the whole team. New signings Perry, McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Shenton will bring a new freshness to the side. All looks good for 2011 and Saints will be in contention for the Challenge Cup, League Leaders and Super League Title next year.

We have done superbly well to continue to qualify for Grand Finals despite losing great players and hugely experienced players over each season. Sculthorpe, Lyon, Long, Cayless, Hooper, Paul Anderson were all hugely experienced players who also had the ability and know how to win Grand Finals. Agreed we have qualified for every Grand Final since them great players have left but I do feel we are missing one great player that can convert those Grand Finals into a Champion team. I do also feel had Kyle Eastmond and Leon Pryce played last night we would have seen a different score line. However I do hope Eamon McManus has one more marquee signing over the winter months to lift the whole squad. I am convinced we are not that far off.

A pacy Winger is a must for us. Gardner and Meli just dont cut it for me. Meli has been far better in the centres rather than his usual position on the wing this season. Personally Meli should be in the back row imo.

The thing that strikes me about our GF hoodoo is that, perhaps with the exception of 2009, we've completely failed to do the basics right in each of the losses. Ultimately it doesn't matter what individuals are in the side if we can't collectively keep our heads in the big game. Hopefully the most important recruit in this respect will be Royce Simmonds, but that remains to be seen.

Absoutley correct. Our defensive line in the first 20-25 mins last night was in complete chaos. We never looked like stopping Wigan at all.

Karl Pryce is available for next season, he could hook up with Leon and the could wear Karl & Leon on the backs of their shirts.

Keep the faith

Karl Pryce is a decent player but he seems very similair to Meli to me. I haven't seen him play that much so I couldn't be confident in my analysis but that is how it seems to me.

After a season riddled with injury I went to the Grand Final in hope rather than optimism with both our half backs and strike players out in Pryce and Eastmond. Turn this on it's head, wIth us at full strength and Wigan without Leuluai and Sam Tomkins?

A good season with some real quality conny through. The likes of Josh Perry and LMS joining Roby and Graham in the front row will make us stronger as will the pace and finishing power of Shenton.

Another winger in the off season will give us a great chance of getting back to Old Trafford. Considering just how poor we were we lost by 2 scores and bombed four in he second half. Potter is another debatable subject, Wilkin at 6 on a pitch that size and Lomax left centre and a brand new partnership in the biggest game of the year - suicide!

Dissappointing, but I'm sure we'll go strength to strength especially with a new coach.

Were missing a top winger from Australia imo. Get rid of Flannery and sign a Aussie winger.

1. Lomax
2. ?
3. Shenton
4. Wheeler
5. Mei
6. Pryce
7. Eastmond
8. Graham
9. Roby
10. Perry
11. Soliola
12. Dixon
13. Puletua

14. Moore
15. LMS
16. Clough
17. Ashurst

18. Wellens
19. Wilkin

Etc......

That would be one excellent team imo.
